The hotel's ordinary room type has a small space, and the location is far from the old city of Assisi. It takes 15 minutes to walk. The hotel has three shuttle buses a day. Parking is free.

We stayed here one night on a coach tour, arriving at dusk, and leaving at dawn, so we didn’t have long to form an opinion. We heard that the grounds were nice, with a view into the valley, but didn’t get to see this. The lobby was interesting, but the hotel had a confusing floor plan, we had to go downstairs to get to the second floor. Our room was adequate, but felt sort of bare and austere. The bed was hard. We had a good meal in the dining room, with a few other groups, so I assume the hotel caters to these travellers. Our stay was just fine, but nothing special.

This hotel is amazing! Beautiful rooms. Amazing view of the town from up on the hill. Great viewing decks. Great service. Great breakfast buffet. Quiet. You won’t go wrong in any way by staying here. We stayed there as part of a Trafalgar Tour.

The hotel is nicely situated but the staff are not customer oriented. At all! I took a group there and they stuck us in their hot basement for dinner with no ventilation. Next morning they refused anyone to sit outside (“your group sit there!” Was yelled at us). It was like sitting in a hot church basement for a potluck. Ugh! I would never stay here again! My hair dryer unit kept falling out of the wall and my lamp cover did the same. Work on customer relations people!

This is the only hotel I have stayed at in Assisi, Italy, but I would stay somewhere else if I were to return to the region. It was ok- rooms old and worn but clean. Honestly, I don’t care as much about the appearance. For me it is about comfort and cleanliness. The room was clean, but I found it odd that there are no mattress pads- just a sheet on top of the mattress and no shampoo or any other products except liquid soap in a wall dispenser. Like other reviewers have said- it was too hot in the room. I did not sleep well because of it. I travel with a thermometer and the coolest my room got was 75 fahrenheit only after changing rooms and asking the reception desk to turn controls down from their computer. At 5:30 AM the system reset (turned off) and I was no longer able to adjust as low as before, so my room heated up again. I’m sure if a person acclimated to the heat it wouldn’t be an issue, but if you are booking tour groups from the U.S. who are used to being able to control the temperature and AC systems that can accommodate desired temps, it is a problem. I ate dinner at the restaurant and it was pretty good. The atmosphere was more like a cafeteria, but the menu had some nice offerings. The staff worked very hard and did a nice job accommodating a huge rush of people who arrived at the same time.

Decent hotel in term of food and bar etc. the service is the biggest joke ever. When we arrived the room was nicely air conditioned. They turn off your air conditioner at night and the room goes to 35-38 degrees celcius. Had worse sleep ever because of this. In morning I asked if they can get working the front desk staff clicked on the computer screen for my room and added a blue circle which turned it back on. The hall ways were cool and nice the front desk was very well air conditioned. As long as the staff is comfortable thats all that matters to them apparently. Never has thins happened like this before. Worst sleep of my night thanks to this brutal policy of saving electricity at the cost of their customers. If you like to sweat all night with no blankets stay her. Also black mould in bathroom. Wouldn’t recommend. I never leave reviews but need to for this one. What a joke.

- Air conditioning broken in July - Hair between the bed sheets - We asked at the reception about the lack of remote control in the room and we were told "You will have to do without it" - The bar closed at lunchtime because the waiter "was busy" It's called a grand hotel but it has obviously suffered a collapse, don't go there.

The hotel is considered 4-star however apart from the lobby area which is nicely decorated, the remaining building seems to need refurbishmnent. The single room booked was basic and as seen in the photos fixtures needed replacement and walls some new coat of paint. Bathroom amenties not up to par for a 4-star hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful, although the person tending the bar did not speak English. The breakfast is just ok, and the coffee options was to use a machine which was a disapointment. Apart from fruit and bread/cereals, there was little or no options for vegan/ vegetarians. The heated indoor pool was good for a short swim and the outdoor grounds are a nice resting area to exercise, meditate or admir the natural surroundings. All of Assisi is a hilly area, so the hotel is a 20 min. walk from the village and road to/from the hotel has some very steep areas if on foot.
