Hotel céntrico y cómodo, cercano al puente romano, en la plaza del pueblo, junto al Ayuntamiento. En la trasera hay un parking grande pero es de pago hasta el sábado al mediodía, aunque hay zonas cercanas para aparcar gratuitamente. El personal de recepción es agradable. La habitación muy amplia y decorada con gusto, parece renovada, un baño grande con ducha y bañera gigante. Las almohadas son cómodas y la cama grande pero en el centro había cómo una diferencia de altura, es posible que lo formaran 2 colchones de diferente grosor o 2 somieres con el ajuste de las patas diferentes. También dispone de un sofá que se convierte en cama. Las persianas tienen tecla de subida y bajada automática. Tv grande con muchos canales. En el baño, en la zona de espejos hay poca iluminación y es escasa para maquill**** o ver con nitidez la cara.... El desayuno variado con fruta, yogures, cafés e infusiones, zumo y bollería industrial pero sabroso y embutido. No hay huevos, ni bacon ni similar, pero está bien y es suficiente para salir desayunado del hotel. Si vuelvo por la zona repetiré. El hotel dispone de bar y restaurante, que tiene buena pinta, con terraza, y se ve frecuentado por los lugareños.

Un lugar increible para ir en familia, a un pasito de la playa (todo un lujo) Con amplia carta y un excelente menú, bastante completo y el desayuno tipo buffet con todo tipo de cosas,fruta,bollería,salados y sección para celiacos que mi hija lo es y se agradece. Maquina de café recien molido, una pasada no tomar agua chirri. Mi habitación amplia y limpia. Personal amable y educado. Un pena marchar de dicho paraje.

All right. Great and beautiful rooms. Very good location. Breakfast and dinner very rich. Hotel staff very friendly. I recommend this hotel. The spa cannot comment since we don't use it. We were very happy . It was a good choice

I had a terrible experience in this so-called three stars hotel, the worst I ever had while travelling. Leaving aside the smell of the curtains, the humidity, the noise from outside, no reception at night, and other details, I want to tell you what happened to me there. I came to Europe for five weeks to visit different countries. A couple of cities with friends and others on my own, which was the case in Gijón. I had made a two-night reservation in Alda Pasaje but ended up leaving early because of what I would describe as a traumatic event. On the morning of the 20th, I was awakened by a knocking on my door. When I asked who it was, they answered me ”police”. Not understanding, I asked what happened and they told me to open the door unkindly. The door had no peephole so I couldn't see who was outside. When I opened the door, I found two men in private clothes, one of whom can only be identified with a badge. They asked me for my document and I gave them my passport. They asked me several questions about when and how I arrived in Spain, both checking the stamps on my passport. I asked them what happened but they didn't give me any explanation. Seeing that what I answered matched the seals, they left. It was a very unpleasant situation, I was alone and I didn't really know if they were the police or what was going on. No one from the hotel went up with them. When I went down to reception to ask for an explanation, the woman there downplayed it, telling me that it was normal for that to happen. I have travelled through Europe before and this is the third time I have come to Spain, and I have never experienced a similar situation, nor do I know anyone who has experienced something similar. I was so traumatized that I was not able to complete my stay. I didn’t feel safe there anymore. The hotel did not refund me anything, they did not even apologize. In fact, the lady acted offended and didn't even look at me when checking out. I believe that this hotel is not up to the standards of a three stars hotel. In this world, if you are a woman on your own 10.000 kms away from home, you can understand how scary can be that two men show up at your door without notice, without uniform and with no reason to be there, asking questions and not answering any. There are better places to stay than this one for sure, DO NOT STAY THERE!

HOTEL MUY CERCA DEL CENTRO, CAMAS ENORMES Y COMODAS, HABITACIONES DE TAMAÑO CORRECTO, POR PONER UNA PEGA LAS VENTANAS DE LA HABITACION NO SE PODIAN ABRIR POR QUE HAY UNA AVENIDA CON MUCHA CIRCULACION Y ENTIENDO SERIA POR LA POLUCION DE LOS VEHICULOS, DESAYUNO VARIADO, SUFICIENTE Y BUENO, LIMPIEZA, TRANQUILIDAD. We have been staying from Saturday to Sunday. In the room we were only going to sleep on the 1.30 of the morning, when we felt a strong smell of tobacco from both coats and soaps, as well as a censor in the lower soap. In the morning I tell the reception girl the problem, who tells me that we should have said something to 1.30 in the morning and we would have changed our room, to which I answered I didn't know that that could be done at those hours The only solution is not to charge the parking, and they say if I send the photo of the saban, someone will contact me to give me a solution to the older. No one gets in touch and I insist again and the answer that I get from the management is that there is no solution to give now. We paid for a room that was not in a condition. What cleaning service. And let's leave the customers happy. I know where we won't go back when we go to Oviedo. Not even to the sercotel city of Oviedo, which is the same.

We stayed here one night. Hotel was designed by famous architect Calatrava so impressive from the outside. Room was big, bed and pillows comfortable. Service was friendly and efficient. Amazing breakfast included in the price. The outside structure is showing signs of wear and could be touched up. The room itself had some signs of wear but did not detract from our stay.

Whilst lovely, this is barely a hotel, and certainly not five stars. It is a conference and wedding venue that seems to try and sell its rooms to private guests during the week. While the staff are delightful and very helpful, and the venue is beautiful, the facilities and service are very limited. There is no pool or spa (despite these being pictured on all the holiday websites we looked at). Although the staff did say they'd taken the spa photos down on their own website, this was not made clear at the time of booking. During the week there is an extremely limited menu of just five basic items available to eat (lunch and dinner) - and as the hotel is a good 15min drive from the nearest town, this was a serious issue. The room (we had a junior suite) was absolutely beautiful but again, clearly a wedding venue rather than a hotel - no room service, and very few amenities - although the surrounding park and walks are lovely. We came here for a quiet and romantic holiday away without our children and to be fair, we achieved that. However, I would warn anyone who thinks that this is a ”hotel” to beware - it is not, it is a very charming conference centre and certainly every day we were there, they had a big event and we felt very much in the way. We ended up staying elsewhere for the last two nights of our stay, as there are far nicer places in the area - something the Castillo did not seem surprised by and did not ask us why we were staying elsewhere or if anything was wrong. When we finally checked out, despite having paid in advance, the (again charming) lady at reception had no idea that we'd already paid, and there was confusion over whether we had to pay again. We left with not a good taste, and sadly - although we have nothing bad to say about the staff or the location, both of which are very nice - we would not come back. However, other people seem to have had a lovely time here so perhaps it depends what you are looking for, and what your standards are. Final word though: cannot fault the staff, all of whom were courteous, charming, spoke perfect English, and were very patient and polite.

I was only planning on staying one night, I ended up staying for three! My room was so comfortable and peaceful, and it had the most gorgeous view of the water and the castle. It is located near stunning beaches, lovely nature, and the incredible beauty of Northern Spain. I loved my stay here and I look forward to returning one day soon!

We specifically booked at this hotel for the Spa and Swimming Pool facilities to revive our weary bodies as we were hiking and cycling the Camino Del Norte . After check in we were advised that the Spa is closed and the swimming pool only opens on 1 June. This was not mentioned on their website or on ***********. The receptionist was unwelcoming and didn't bother to greet us. When we asked for a cup of hot water, the man that delivered it to our room almost broke the door down and was very rude to us. We wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. This hotel is adjacent to an industrial area and we experienced noises throughout the night. The bed was terribly hard and I rolled around all night. You would be far better off to travel an extra 20 km and stay in Tapia de Casariego on the beach.
