The main feature of this hotel is it's location on top of a hill overlooking the Nile. Also, you are able to use the facilities of its sister hotel, Basma Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, esp Meera who organised drivers and tour guide for us at short notice. The room was clean and spacious, and bathroom had all amenties, however the shower cubicle was on the small side and shower curtain just a couple cms too short so difficult to avoid getting the floor wet.

The two Bassima hotels check in separately, this one is the old one on the top of the mountain. The bathroom is very small, there are not many guest rooms in a small building, and the rooms on the first floor have a special door to the public terrace. The swimming pool is small, not suitable for swimming, but suitable for soaking in it. For breakfast, go to the hotel below, which is downstairs. The scenery on the top of the mountain is still very good. Stayed the night before at the newer hotel of the same name below. Also more bottled water needs to be purchased. It is recommended that everyone stay in this hotel and live in the one downstairs.

Great hotel with even better service. We really appreciate the staff who helped us find our cruise, offered a free sunset boat trip, found reliable drivers for us and we’re very attentive.

Worst hotel ever. I will rate it a 1 star hotel. Tiny bathroom, hard to take shower. No iron available in hotel forget in room. Air conditioner did not work, i think it will not go down a certain temperature. I had to sleep in warm room. Be careful when reserving this. Our tour company reserved it and we had no say.

This Hotel is the best! The staff are absolutely amazing. Very friendly and so accommodating. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable also quiet. The pool is gorgeous and the view is stunning. Great food. Just overall Incredible!

We only stayed at the Basma Executive Club for one night on our way across Egypt in April, 2023. The hotel upgraded us to a bigger room, which was very nice especially for the price. We ordered a family studio and were upgraded to a suite! We got in pretty late but were able to catch the buffet for dinner. We sat outside by the pool. They kept the buffet open a little later just for us since we were the last ones arriving there. They were even walking us through to show us what they had. It was really great service all around. Everyone was as nice as could be. In the morning before we left they also had a fantastic breakfast as well. We had a taxi take us to Abu Simbel which is only about a 3 hour drive from the hotel. Great hotel for anyone who wants to explore Aswan and be close enough to also visit Abu Simbel!

The Basma hotel consists of two buildings: the first is a large complex with a large swimming pool and restaurant. The second is much smaller: around twenty rooms, and being higher, offers a magnificent view of the Nile and Aswan. There is also a swimming pool, smaller but very pleasant. The rooms are huge and even have a kitchenette. Only the bathroom is quite small. The restaurant (in the lower part of the hotel) is very good and reasonably priced and the breakfast buffet is very varied. A great address.

The best: The view from the terrace is extraordinary! The welcome from Mr. George, in French, was greatly appreciated at the reception of the main Basma. The room, despite the slightly shabby furniture, was exemplary clean. The breakfast buffet was really good. The food was also very acceptable for other meals. We owe a big thank you to Mirna who made our stay more than pleasant. She recommended Mario to us to go to Abu Simbel. His car is impeccable and comfortable, he is very professional, punctual, and he has a good sense of humor. He also arranged for us a high quality felucca (Basmatic) from Aswan to KoOmbo. Cons: Despite the fact that we negotiated the price, it was too high for this category of hotel. We don’t regret it because… the view! The shower is so tiny that the curtain sticks to our skin. The pillows are rock hard. The kitchenette consists of a microwave, a kettle and a large fridge. The cupboards are completely empty No equipment, saddle dishes etc. They readily provide us with the minimum when we ask for it but it remains insufficient. Finally, the swimming pool is not heated and therefore much too cold in January.

The executive club part of this hotel is exceptional, quiet, clean with spacious rooms and a very large bathroom. The view is spectacular. Above all the staff is friendly and very professional. Special thanks to Merna, Hany and Gerges.
