Philae Hotel Aswan

One of the most horrible experiences! That shouldn’t be considered as a hotel, it’s more like a poor hostel. No elevators. You might need to carry your luggage upon your room floor. Stained bed sheets. Torn carpet. Nasty air conditioner. The room smells awful from cigarettes. Terrible ventilation. Once we checked in we took the decision to checkout. The receptionist refused to help us with our luggage, so we had to carry it all the way down from the 4th floor.

The view is marvelous , the hotel services are perfect and the people are welcoming .The location is magnificent ,you can go to the touristic places and the local market with ease. For any requirement there is a quick response. No interruption for daily routine. Recommendations are very helpful by the workers there specially the receptionists.Hope to do it again

Honestly, I don't know how they have the various 5-star ratings. When I went there recently, I was thoroughly disappointed. There is no lift and no wifi in the rooms. We got fairly dodgy vibes and I would definitely not recommend this to anyone, particularly families with kids.

We got a one bedroom apartment located on the 5th floor facing the Nile. There is a kitchenette and a sitting area. There is no elevator so if you do not want to climb the stairs you should get a room on a lower floor. This hotel does not provide standard amenities including hygiene products (body wash, shampoo, and conditioner) except a bright blue color bar soap. The towels are in very bad shape and should have been replaced years ago. The hotel says wifi is available in the lobby but there was no wifi in the lobby for the two days we were there. The breakfast was very basic and did not start until 7:30 am. You can request a breakfast box if you need to leave early for Abu Simbel. I think the breakfast box was better than the breakfast they served in the restaurant on the 2nd floor. The location of the hotel is very convenient. If I visit Aswan again I will stay somewhere else.

The hotel is very good and the staff is very nice and friendly. The location is in the heart of the city and overlooking the fascinating view of the legendary river Nile. Highly recommended for budget travelers.

The hotel is Very decent and clean. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The great thing is that the hotel is close to every attraction in Aswan. Its location is great and on the Nile. The rooms are very clean with great view on the Nile.

No WiFi but ironically I have two refrigerators in my room, water pressure is too weak to do a basic shower even for a small size Asian, no elevate, mattress is as hard as towers, flies are in the room, towers look not so clean, rooms are too old, it definitely and desperately needs a renovation! Location is probably the only highlight,
