Good establishment. Service up to 3 stars. Unfortunately the soundproofing of the rooms is poor. We were really disturbed by other guests. We were bothered on several occasions by the smell of cigarettes.

The best thing in this hotel is the staff. Very friendly and helpful. Rooms are decorated in a unique style (obviously they are new). No wardrobe but you can ask for extra hangers. They have daily cleaning as well. Iron and ironboard , full amenities like shaving, vanity even comb, free water and wine when you arrive. If only they can fix the lift function better then the hotel will be perfect!

Our stay at Hotel Onyx in San Julian, Malta was simply wonderful. Since our arrival, we have been welcomed with exceptional warmth and helpfulness by the staff, always ready to satisfy our every need with professionalism and courtesy. The cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable, with rooms always tidy and perfectly sanitized, a detail that we greatly appreciated and which made our stay even more pleasant and relaxing. The breakfast deserves a full 10: rich, varied and of high quality, it is the perfect way to start the day. Every morning we were delighted by a wide choice of fresh and tasty products that fully met our expectations. When we return to Malta, Hotel Onyx will undoubtedly be our point of reference. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a stay of comfort, cleanliness and excellent hospitality.

Excellent property with great location, extremely clean and comfortable, super friendly staff. Teo was extraordinary! He was a true example of excellent hospitality. He made our trip more exciting in Malta by guiding and giving us tips about the city and the attractions to cover in 72 hours. He made sure that everything was arranged for us accordingly. I couldn't thank him enough for the excellent level of service he had rendered. We will surely visit H Hotel on our next holiday and expect that will recommend your hotel to our family and friends.

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. The location is very good, near the beach, surrounded by bars/restaurants and close to the bus stop. It was clean in the rooms however and the breakfast was nice. The service was a little lacking and they checked us in a bit late.

My wife and I have just returned from spending 2 weeks at this hotel . I'm trying to find words that describe what is good about it. I've just realised which words i'm looking for......ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. We have travelled to numerous countries over the past 40-50 years and stayed in many many hotels but our experience at this hotel surpasses them all. The staff at reception, Marine, Maja and their colleagues were always most helpful when asked for information or sorting a small problem. The staff in the dining room, Subina and Nikesh in particular were most friendly and helpful and together with their colleagues helped make dining there a complete pleasure. The food choice was amazing, both the buffet breakfast and the a la carte evening meal. The room (and particular the bed) was massive with all the amenities you needed. We would definitly recommend this hotel to anybody who wanted a stressless stay in Malta.

My stay at the Deep Blu Boutique hotel on the beautiful and quieter west coast of Malta, close to the impressive Blue Grotto and the temples of Hagar Qim, has been truly wonderful. This is a superb hotel in a unique location! For the staff it seems natural to make sure their guests have a perfect stay. And they absolutely succeed in doing so! The rooms are beautifully designed and furnished and very comfortable. If you can stay in a superior room with sea view, as I could, you'll wake up with view on the vast Mediterranean illuminated by the morning sunlight and you'll be able to view the sunset from just that same place. But the ambiance of the hotel is marvelous whichever room you stay in. I hope to be back some time in the future and for now keep wonderful memories :-) Thank you!

We stayed on the older side of the hotel. Room smelt of damp and when we complained they came in and bleached the floors nothing else. There was only one socket in the room which kept crackling. The breakfast was average but we went up the road to Debbie’s Cafe which was great. The pool upstairs was good with nice views but the drinks were overly priced. We had a couples massage “Back, shoulders and neck”. My other half only had his neck massaged. I had all parts it felt good but later that day I experienced some horrific neck pain and felt as though a muscle had twinged. Not worth the price we paid. We went to the Thai Fusion restaurant the views were great but I wasn’t over impressed with my dish to start as is was a red curry in soup water, thankfully they took it back and the taste wasn’t so bad. Again felt it was over priced for what it was. Over all hotel was okay, but the services within were very overly priced. I also think had our room been on the renovated side we would of been more positive on our review as our room was outdated and stunk of damp.
