The hotel is located in the highly popular Domain area in North Austin which is good for shopping and has some great restaurants even though it’s quite a distance from downtown Austin. The hotel rooms are well furnished with comfortable beds in the king room. There is a small sitting area with a small table where a single person can sit and work. In room WiFi is fast enough to work on. The hotel would be preferred by business professionals as there are quite a few companies located in the area. Lots of parking available onsite and is free for hotel guests. There is also a restaurant onsite which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Starbucks coffee is available at the in-house bar. Also you can order many of the food items from the restaurant at the bar and eat along with your drink. Eating at the bar is actually the best proposition. There is no automatic addition of 18% gratuity and no service charge. The staff at the bar were all excellent every day that I ate there and were always courteous and helpful with suggestions. It was surprising that there is a service charge added to all checks when you eat at the onsite restaurant Urban Grill. Service charge was added to room service orders which was fine as they were bring orders up to room. But the service charge on top of 18% gratuity auto added to all checks at the restaurant was unexpected. On top of that, a request for additional gratuity was unwarranted in my opinion. On one day of our stay, there was an issue with hot water being unavailable. It was fixed by a technician but it made us late to get to work. Not a big deal for us, but definitely a con for our stay. The staff at hotel other than at the restaurant are extremely friendly, helpful and customer oriented. Definitely one of the plus points of this hotel.
