My husband and I decided to take an impromptu trip to Austin. We booked our reservation for 1 night stay at Staybridge Suites with representative via phone. The check in process was fine. Immediately after, we went to Texasriadhouse for dinner. Upon returning, we went to our room for the 1st time about 10:15PM. My husband and I were watching a movie and he jumped up! I said, “what is it?” He said, “I’m looking for my shoe to kill the roach on the wall!” I told him to take a picture before he killed the roach. Afterwards, I went to the bathroom and the tub was dirty. I called the front desk, explained that the tub was dirty and my husband killed a roach in the room. The employee requested that we come downstairs to return current keys and receive new room keys. He told us that the manager would contact us the following morning. Of course, after we arrived at the new room, it was uncomfortable for the rest of the evening. We were concerned about roaches in our new room and possibly crawling from the walls to our bed during our sleep/bedtime!! We talked to Amanda (I believe) the following day (2.18.24). I asked the manager. However, per employee, the manager wouldn’t arrive until following day on Monday. I discussed the situation from the previous evening. The employee said she’d heard about that and sent housekeeping to the room to look for the roach!! OMG… I told her that my husband killed the roach and showed her the picture of the roach and dirty tub. I told the lady employee that to us, roaches meant “unclean”. Also, my husband and I are not used to roaches. The employee said that they sanitize their rooms. I will follow up with management (VIOLET BOUNTHAI) on Monday with the expectation of being compensated for our stay.
