Great service. Thoughtful staff. Clean. Peaceful. Perfect place to stay. Loved the rooms. Loved the character and history of the place. The food was amazing.

Liked the entertainment, the cafe and the decor. Did not like that drain on tub was not working effectively. The mattress had huge valleys from being too worn. The drapes didn’t fully close and let in too much light. The safe key did not work properly—it was jamming.

Built in 1886 it has a 19th century elegance. This does come with some quirks, but, the rooms had a comfortable bed and workable bathroom.
The hotel itself has live music in the bar/resturant, a decent place to eat breakfast (hotel prices), very efficient valet (expensive) and has high tea on most weekends (must reserve early).
Overall this is not a bargain experience, but, pulls off old school elegance quite nicely.
The location is great if you want enjoy 6th street, it is not in the middle of dirty 6th, but, just a few blocks walk away so you can enjoy the nightlife and retire to a calm quiet area to rest.

I stayed at the Driskall while traveling for business and had a great experience. The staff was extemely attentive and the historical tour was a great extra touch. Room service and bar drinks were also enjoyable (highly recommend the chicken quesadilla and the Lady Bird cocktail!). Music can be loud at night was my only issue.

This iconic hotel is fabulous! From the service by valet staff to the bar staff and cafe staff,, to housekeeping, immaculate rooms, stayed four nights and that was not long enough! Unbelievably gorgeous place, some outdated club chairs in the lounge/bar...W. of Hyatt should consider upgrading the furniture, but that's minor compared to the lovely historic hotel and attentive staff...everywhere.

Great service and a remarkable stay throughout. If you want a piece of history this hotel is not to be missed. Right at the heart of Austin only to be topped by the service of all staff who were helpful and supportive in any respect of need. Will definitely be back.

The Driskill’s staff, location and historic vibe made for a great stay in Austin. We stayed in a historic king room with fascinating art throughout the surrounding corridors and walk through the mezzanine level was a trip back in time 100 years. Fitness facilities were excellent especially for an old hotel. Staff were very nice. We walked to Town Lake, West 6th and Texas University all within 15 minutes. I will definitely be staying here on my next trip to Austin!

A bit dated, paint cracking in closet. Expected with age. Other than that, a loveky old hotel w. the most amazing chocolate cake in their bakery and mutant cinnamon rolls!
