Great location along south congress! Awesome staff, clean and cozy room. Clean!! Love the pool as well. Will definitely consider again when in Austin!!

We like South Congress, so this was a great location for a quick getaway. For all the new buildings, I like the vibe of old Austin. The room was cheerful and spacious. The staff was cheerful as well. This was a really good experience. We will be back.

This is the quirkiest hotel we have ever stayed in. The location is perfect, the staff are super friendly and helpful and the adjoining restaurant and coffee shop are brilliant too. There is also a very cute shop beside the check in desk. All in all I would definitely recommend!

My fiancée and I stayed here in April 2024 for a Bachelorette Trip. While the bride-to-be chose the location of where the Party stayed we have no regrets at all from our stay here. Check-in was made easy via an online check-in option. As soon as we arrived, there was an intersex progressive Pride flag hanging in the window. This was a great sign that we were not only welcome here but also fully supported. Y'all means all! The Austin Motel is a quick mosey to all the great places on South Congress which made it great for saving money on rideshare options. We absolutely adored our room (especially the parrot wallpaper) and had everything we could need. The rooms were retro and leaned into that aesthetic but we had all modern conveniences of a hair dryer, a tv, a bluetooth radio, and fridge full of snacks and drinks. Unfortunately for us, it drizzled the whole weekend so we didn't get to enjoy the pool. But that didn't stop another party from enjoying the amenities. Even though they were loud and having a good time, we couldn't hear the noise from our room that was near the pool so we were able to take an afternoon nap when we needed it. Even though it rained, we made sure to stop by the pool bar and enjoy the "Raspberry Beret" and "Texas Mule" cocktails. Both excellent choices. Absolutely every employee we spoke to were nothing but helpful and kind. The lobby has a small gift shop that several members of our Party bought from to remember their stay as well. When we come back to Austin, we can't wait to stay here again. Or, if we're looking to go a bit fancier, we might stay at the parent company's (Bunkhouse Hotels) other digs at Hotel San José down the street! Thank you to Tricia and the team for making us feel safe, welcomed, and taken care of for our short stay in Austin!

We‘ve loved everything about the motel. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and safe. The staff was superfriendly and gave lots of advice and recommendations. The room was funky, the parking unbeatable, the pool refreshing. Lots of bars, clubs and shops around. Would love to come back anytime.

The best place to stay in Austin by far! So much fun, the staff is amazing . They give us the best recommendations. The pool is worth it all on its own. The location is so convenient but it really the people that make the magic. The food at Joann’s is so good as well.

Everything was the right level of funky and cool. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the bed was outstanding. If you like the monotony of chain hotels, then stay at one. If you want to experience a slice of the real Austin life, the top-notch reception staff at the Austin Motel will welcome you and ensure you have a pleasant stay. The location in South Austin is perfect, across from the Continental Club, between Jo's for coffee and Jeni's for ice cream, a short walk to the Congress Street bridge for viewing the bats, and an easy walk to Allen's Boots, Magnolia Cafe, and a million other places of interest.

I loved the atomic retro futurism vibe of this motel. Everything was so cute and all we needed for our family trip. The highlights were the bar by the pool, the unique gift shop, and the very friendly staff. The attached restaurant is very good too. The neighborhood has so many other good restaurants and shops, and much more relaxing than staying right downtown.
