AI Summary
The accommodation's advantages include comfortable beds, spacious rooms, and friendly staff. However, guests found it overpriced compared to the quality of food and service. Its remote location is also a drawback.

A must stay. This is a special place and experience. A must visit. The lodge to the national park to the exceptional customer service. A bucket list for everyone. Expensive but worth every penny.

Underwhelmed Pre arrival staff were excellent in advising a walk back to entrance of Abel Tasman NP and arranging transport to and from Lodge. This high standard was not maintained after our arrival e.g. waiter forgot to order my wife’s main course. Also, on our return from a walk we found our choice of herbal tea was restricted to one type (which we didn’t like), one tea spoon, no complimentary biscuits in the room. Plus by 9pm having only arrived at lunchtime I’d exhausted the free wi- fi limit. At breakfast the next morning we even had to pay for a coffee. Given the cost of a room for a night all this smacked of stinginess. On checking out I was asked how my stay had been and I said OK. There was just acceptance of this comment by staff when I would have thought a polite enquiry was needed

Wonderful location in Abel Tasman Park Fantastic location. The room with the patio was very nice -comfortable and clean in a natural setting. Travel to the Lodge by SeaShuttle or by hiking. Lovely walks and kayaking available.

We wanted a quiet and relaxing “gap” in our travel program and did we get that - YES! All from the boat voyage out to the Lodge through the return voyage we were meet with nice and personal service, charming living huts, fabulous food and wines - and - fantastic nature. We got two days and nights at this fabulous place which felt like much more - when we left we just said to ourselves - what an experience!

22 of us stayed here. Beautiful location & rustic building which is gorgeous inside. Meals were delicious & service was friendly. Not ideal to be in shared room with another couple, awkward! Very steep stairs to the mezzanine floor. Nice tracks around it to walk. Long walk from the beach to the lodge, especially after biking 74km!! Disappointed you couldn't hire paddle boards & take them out, you had to wait for the kayak guy to take you when he was free, a big loss of $$ to the lodge from us therefore. Stunning golden beaches to sunbathe on & swim from.

We stayed a night here as part of our trip around New Zealand as we thought it was a good way to experience the Abel Tasman National Park with limited time, and we were right. We got the Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle there and back which is an experience in itself. Although the weather was patchy while we were there, it didn’t really affect us too much as there’s loads to do. We went on a hike in the forest, plus a hike along the beach and shoreline, plus we saw the glow worms and fed the eels. The meals we had were good and the staff very friendly

If you are looking for a piece of heaven on earth - you have found it here. From arrival shared areas are so beautifully appointed - welcoming receptionist so knowledgable and kind. Kevin and Amber in restaurant so knowledgable on wine and menu choices. Food is insane, each dish created with care and love. Such pride in what they do. I had a session in spa with Flo and I feel refreshed and totally relaxed. This is sheer bliss, even though the weather was stormy at night the warmth of the team made our stay so so special 🔥🔥

This place is a little gem - whole team were first rate. The room we had was well equipped and had fabulous views over the bush and the eel pond and very close to the restaurant and other hotel facilities as well within easy reach of the stunning beaches and walking tracks. The lodge has so many good features but with a few small easily sorted thing which stopped it getting a 10 out of 10. Rooms could have been better presented - with only a couple of weeks into the summer season - one would expect the rooms to have been freshened up over the winter - an hour with a screwdriver and a paint brush and some good "spray and walk away" and it would present so much better. Tea, Coffee and sugar (my partner likes a cup of tea after being out and about) was not refilled each day and biscuits on arrival did not appear on subsequent days. The real issue I had was - we were on a Dinner Bed & Breakfast package and for example - during meals we found it embarrassing and I am sure the staff felt the same - having to say within earshot of all the other dinners - "as we were on a package I was not allowed a certain fruit juice for breakfast as it was extra" - I do not drink tea or coffee so do like a nice fruit juice at breakfast - but did not want the world to know it was going to cost me extra!! - there has to be a better way !!!
