Most probably the best hotel in Reykjavik, modern, new, everything in great condition and with a great location. That being said it is a very expensive hotel even for Icelandic standards. So let me start with the highlights of this hotel: - Very comfortable and great materials condition. - AC with individual room adjustable temperature is a great plus for Iceland. - I got the basic room and it felt big enough, modern and super clean. The bathroom was also big but there was no bathtub unfortunately. Great comfortable bed and sheets. - Le Labo bath products are truly amazing. One of the best I ever tried! I also appreciated that for ecologic reasons they weren't in non reusable small plastic bottles. - The rooms are silent and relaxing. I would change the black TV furniture as black always highlight the dust on it.. even when the room is nicely cleaned. - The breakfast is big and overall with good quality. But daily variation should be bigger. - The location is perfect to stroll along the shops and walking distance to the most important city spots. - The spa is beautiful and very interesting. Probably the most well designed small spa in a city hotel I have ever seen. Complimentary use of the spa is a very nice touch indeed. Although it was a really good expericence in no way this was a perfect stay specially when the price tag is considered: - The hall and corridors cleaning left too much to be desirable. At least at 3rd floor corridor there was dust, earth and stains that remained for the whole 3 night stay. It is strange as the rooms are really well cleaned (maybe it's a different team? maybe someone forgot that the corridors are also to be cleaned?). - The reception. It is always busy and sometimes feels chaotic at the proper hotel entrance. I also felt that some guest were treated differently and with more care. I got no welcome drink or even the suggestion to leave the bags. That's ok for me but then I realized the guest next to me was immediately offered all of this. I mean.. consistency is important at this level. - Hidden fees. Ok maybe it was a misunderstanding but when we arrived we were told that the hotel had valet parking only. But nobody told us the extortion each night of it. At the chekout there it was though. Also in the breakfast there was no specific tag with the champagne price but after I filled a glass with it a waiter quickly send me the bill to sign. I mean it is very bad to mix not included stuff in the buffet. Also every egg besides the scramble had a price tag. I mean for almost 700 euros a night is it reasonable to charge for a egg toast?. - The room curtains. Beautifull but totally off for iceland summer status (2-3hours of darkness). Light comes in in every curtain fold so it is impossible to cover it. Every night I woke up several times due to too much outdoor light in the rooms. This should be quickly addressed. It honestly really bothered me. - The spa only opens at 12h00 meaning you cannot use it

The hotel was perfect for visiting Iceland. Clean, new, with sleek decor. It was actually prefect for the rate and this type of trip. As a Hilton gold member, I had access to the spa amenities and daily breakfast. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and accommodating. The only thing I would note would be the lack of air conditioning controls in the room. I don’t think you can control your ac/ heat as the room only had a thermostat that you can raise up or down but couldn’t select cold or hot. The room did get stuffy at night so we had to open the window for air. Also my room faced the wall. There was absolutely nothing to look at other than a concrete wall. Other than that, our stay was great and the price was very reasonable. I booked a massage the last day of my stay and I enjoyed the spa offerings.

The staff, accommodations, and location at the Reykjavik Residence Hotel were exceptional! We traveled with 3 families from the USA to Iceland with our elderly parents as part of our dad's 80th birthday bucket list. We corresponded with the hotel staff via email before our trip and they were very prompt and helpful in answering questions. You never know when you're emailing a hotel operation if you'll even get a reply. Imagine our delight when they replied quickly and were extremely helpful, even with offering restaurant suggestions or to call taxis for us. We organized the airport pickup car service which made our arrival very easy. With 6 people and lots of luggage, the car size was adequate and driver very professional. The driver took us to the hotel reception desk. We'd taken a red-eye flight and the hotel staff greeted us with a very warm welcome. They offered us coffee, a place to sit, and use of bathrooms. The reception area was comfortable and the bathroom even had a full-size luxurious tiled shower if needed (definitely not a truck stop shower here!). Our rooms weren't ready so they stored our luggage at no charge and were very accommodating when we needed to retrieve items. Upon check-in, they called a taxi to transport us and our luggage and to the building. It was only a few minutes walk, but this was very thoughtful considering it was a cold and windy winter day. Our building was newly renovated and was very clean and fresh. We had rooms on the basement level, the main level, and the top floor. Each room was spacious, had a large kitchen, and clean and comfortable bathrooms. The basement room had a full-size sliding door that walked outside. The top room had a mini balcony that overlooked the harbor. We'd read some reviews about a sulphur smell in the bathrooms or the water supply. We didn't experience this at all. In fact, we routinely filled our water bottles with the tap water in the rooms and it was perfect to drink. They performed daily housekeeping service automatically and we left laundry one day which was returned within 24 hours with no problems. Definitely take the breakfast option. The bread is baked fresh, filled with air pockets and crusty outside. Hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt (skyr), meats, and cheese. This was a great way to start the day. Coffee was included in the room and the kitchens also had mini-fridges which included a supply of milk and apple juice. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were well-heated. Wi-fi was fast and included. We spent one week at the hotel and highly recommend staying here. It was the size and layout of an apartment, with the amenities and service of a 5-star hotel. Things to watch out for: If you're traveling with others, try to arrange to be in the same building. The buildings are definitely spread out and are a far distance from the reception area. If we'd been in separate buildings, it would have been much more difficult t

My friend and I shared a room during our stay in Reykjavik. Two twin beds were very comfortable and so were pillows. Quiet location. Black out curtains worked well. Location close to sites and restaurants. Immaculately clean property. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was perfect. Limited parking spots on property but nighttime street parking is free from 6:00pm to 9:00am.

I think Hotel Holt is a nice boutique hotel with all you need. It’s small but all details and needs are being catered. Hotel management is running it with heart which you can see in many aspects. I think this hotel. We didn’t have the breakfast so can’t comment on it but overall experience is good. The price is a bit pricey but it’s okay as we are in city centre. Well located and just a few minutes walk to the Main Street. And the best overall, they have car park and it’s free….

We stayed for 3 nights b&b in April. We arrived early and our allocated rooms weren't all ready but the reception staff amended our room so that we could check in. We also received a room upgrade to a balcony room on the top floor. The room was spacious, good size bathroom and comfortable bed. There was plenty of wardrobe space but no drawers to store smaller items. There was just one issue with the rooms on the top floor, which was they were very hot. Even with the radiators turned off, the staff advised that the heat from the lower rooms rise and can make them warm. There are just 2 small top windows so didn't allow much cooler air to circulate. There was a good selection at breakfast with English and continental breakfast options, tea, coffee, water and fresh fruit juices. The restaurant food was also good and comparable prices to in Reykjavik centre. Good service from the breakfast and restaurant/ bar staff. We used the spa on one of the days and enjoyed this. There are seperate saunas in the male and female changing rooms, with joint hot tub (not jacuzzi), warm small pool and small cold plunge pool. There are seating areas in the pool area with drink service. Towels and robes are provided. The hotel is located outside of Reykjavik centre and about 30 mins walk into the centre. There are a few supermarkets locally, we didn't find any within a short walking distance but there might be some around. The hotel benefits from free parking right outside and we didn't have an issue with the space being full. This was a good location for us as a base to explore the island. The hotel was clean and well equipped to meet our needs. The only issue was the heat in the bedrooms, but apart from that we had an enjoyable stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Sif Apartments in Reykjavik. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with our 2 teenage boys. The apartment was really clean and well laid out and kitchen well equipped. Having 2 bathrooms was really handy. The covered balcony was a really nice touch. It was within walking distance to the city centre and about a minute walk to bus stop 12 for most tour pickups. It was quiet in the neighbourhood so nice and quiet. The communication was excellent throughout and we knew exactly what we needed to do. There are grocery shops close by so we cooked most nights and made sandwiches for the day to try and shield ourselves from the prices We had a car which we parked in the underground car park. This was probably the only negative it’s quite expensive and the parking app pretty rubbish along with the pay machine. It scans your number plate on entry but when you leave you still have to put in your entry time. It was all a little weird and easy to get wrong. It is an underground car park though so protected from the elements! Overall a very positive experience and we will definitely stay again if in Reykjavík. Plus we saw the Northern Lights which was a massive bonus!

The environment is beautiful, the housing conditions are clean, the service facilities are good, the design structure is unique, and the geographical position is unique. GGuest UserThe location was perfect in that in was in the heart of Reykjavik - shops, restaurants, and a block away from a main bus pick up stop (#6) for tours. Bad thing was it was close to everything including bars and on Saturday night, it was pretty loud till about 2/3 am. Weeknights were fine for us, probably more noise from fighting seagulls than rowdy people. The apartment itself was difficult to find since it was behind the main building, through a short alley be tween the Vietnamese restaurant and gift shop. We asked a local at the gift shop to locate it. And despite there being graffiti on the walls, we never felt unsafe and have returned past midnight before. We stayed in #301, third floor apartment that was basically a studio with 2 twin beds, a sofa bed, small round table with a few chairs, microwave, dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer combo, all utensils/settings. There’s also a small balcony shared with the apartment next to us. The exterior and apartment doors were accessible via codes. Great because no keys are needed, but could be tricky to unlock. An alarm will sound after a few incorrect attempts. The apartment looked great. Simple, neutral colors. We couldn’t figure out whether the place was cleaned though since one twin bed sheet had a little stain and one of the pillowcase had a little something stuck to it. And it didn’t smelled fresh, though could be it hasn’t been booked in a while? We only slept there and didn’t use any of the appliances, including the coffee maker, so don’t know if they worked or if they supplied detergents. We did notice that there’s a note you had to empty trash under the sink. The spots on our sheet and the one pillowcase were not confirmed or enough to be a big concern for us. Overall, we liked the place mostly for convenience. But if you’re a light sleeper, this might not be a good choice. Also want to note they were very responsive via email. And lastly, on street parking which you’ll need to download app to pay between 9 am and 6 pm.

GGuest UserWe stayed here a couple of nights in early September for a pre-cruise stay. Clean, comfortable (we opted for the slightly larger room) and a great location near the waterfront area and walking distance to the old town part of Reykjavit. They accommodated an early arrival due to our flight schedule, which was appreciated. There is a connected cafe and coffee bar which was very convenient. There are some off-site parking garages (rented a car) which are OK, but a little expensive and if it is raining, not real convenient. They said they had storage lockers, but because they provided an early check-in, we did not need them, so I am not sure if they are on-site or not - if they are the ones in the parking structure, they are definitely not sufficient. Although we do not see us returning soon, if we did, we would definitely stay here again.

My husband, teenage daughter, and I stayed in a room on the first floor for two nights, and we wish that we hadn't. On the positive side, it was clean and centrally located as advertised. In addition, the kitchenette with a fridge was nice. However, it felt really awkward having to walk through a restaurant to access the room each time, and initially we were worried that we wouldn't receive our entry code in time for our check in. This is not a hotel at all, but a kind of Airbnb equivalent. We never saw a real staff person. We decided to cancel our final night in the room and booked a room at another hotel down the block.

YYUNThe location of the hotel is really good, at the end of the commercial street, it is lively to go out, and it is also close to the landmark Sun Boat. There is a Domino's Pizza opposite the hotel, there is a Bonus supermarket 300 meters away, and the free parking lot is great. The decoration is really a bit old, but the sanitary condition is worthy of reassurance.

JJingxuanziThe location of the hotel is very good. First of all, across the road from the hotel is the main street of Iceland. All the shops are concentrated in this area. The urban attractions, such as the cathedral, the presidential palace, and the concert hall, can all be reached on foot. There is a 24-hour convenience store next to the hotel, where you can buy food and drink 24 hours a day. The hotel is clean and quiet. Don't worry about not having enough bathrooms. There are three bathrooms on the first floor, which are completely sufficient. There is no one at the front desk. You need to press the door horn and he will open the door for you and tell you which room you are in. Just go into the room directly. The room key is on the table.

GGuest UserI stayed here for four nights ONLY because my positive Covid test, the day before my scheduled flight back to the U.S.A., required that I self-quarantine for five days before I could request a ”Fit to Fly” Certificate to get on my return flight. Needing to quickly find a place to stay for several nights that was not too far from the BSI Terminal, I felt blessed that this place met my needs at a price that significantly less than other lodgings. Unfortunately, the number of negatives were simply too much for me to ignore. Let me be clear: I am not fussy when it comes to sleeping accommodations. When I do wilderness backpacking, a roof over my head & an outhouse are luxuries for me. I knew this place had shared bathrooms but figured (correctly, I need to emphasize) it would not be a problem for me. First, the positives. Good location in a quiet neighborhood at a budget price. Warm, comfortable beds. Very clean rooms, including all common areas. Excellent wifi. Spotless kitchen had more utensils than I expected, with plenty of refrigerator space for your food; thus allowing you to save on meals. A hair dryer was in the room. Negatives. Unless you are walking along the Snorrabraut sidewalk, with a good idea of where this place is -- it's right behind the bus stop, BTW -- you'll never see its sign. With a lack of street signs in the area, I can't say I'm surprised I got lost trying to find the place. There is no elevator; it was not fun to carry my suitcase up a flight of stairs. Check-in was not till 3pm, and there is no place to safely store your luggage. I've gotten used to mid-afternoon check-ins, but having to sit around till then is also not fun. My room was supposedly designed for four people, but I see no way for more than two people to not trip over each other. The paint on the white table was clearly coming off, and any attempt to move it resulted in its legs falling apart. TV had ONLY Apple TV, meaning you must pay extra for anything you wanted to see. I enjoy watching news & free entertainment, but this was literally impossible. The washing machine was broken while I was there. ANY ability to do laundry is a nice feature, and getting it free is a real treat. But not if it's unusable. My room has radiator heat, meaning you have two choices: lots of heat or none at all. I must state that my biggest negative was lack of communication about getting a room key. All I got was an email message stating ”Front door: xxxxxx” and ”Room code: xxxxx”. I've spent a lifetime training people how to use technology, often after I had to teach myself because of bad instructions, so I'm pretty good at figuring out how to get things to work.
