We recently stayed in Murni Villa in this Kejora villa complex. We booked through coolbalivillas. We booked based on the advice we received from this website and we were expecting some noise from the construction happening next door. We are not precious, we have lived in south east asia and we’re expecting to be a little inconvenienced (as we received a discounted rate) but when we arrived it was a completely different situation. These villas directly adjoin (share a common wall with) the construction of the biggest Mall in Bali (Icon Mall). This Mall is not near completion and still needs significant work on the exterior and internally. The noise was from 8am -9pm and involved men using power tools such as grinders, jackhammers and welders directly above our villa , literally metres away from where we were trying to eat l, sleep and bathe. The construction workers were on scaffolding that has direct access to the villa compound, which rendered the complex insecure as the workers could literally climb into the villas open air bathroom or other parts of the complex. They also had a direct line of site into the bathroom and the pool area. The wall the villa adjoins is slowly being covered in air conditioners for the whole mall and the dust and debris from the installation was blowing directly into the pool. We pulled several construction materials from the pool in the space of 24 hours. We were expecting mosquitoes (as it's the tropics) but the mosquitoes in this villa were unlike anythingI I had experienced, I could only put this down to the stagnant water at the construction site. We were so disappointed and ended up leaving after our first night (we had intended to stay seven nights). We raised these concerns with management from coolbalivillas and they only offered a 50% refund. This still left us significantly out of pocket and with no choice but to find alternative accommodation. coolbalivillas were also dismissive of the risks this accommodation posed to our two young children which is stark contrast to the ‘family values’ they promote on their website. These villas once would have been nice, but unfortunately even when the construction is finally completed the villas will be overshadowed by a wall of industrial air conditioners spitting out noise and hot air. The other disappointing thing is that the construction has trashed the beach in front of the villas, the worst section of sand in sanur. It was a nightmare.
