It's hard to imagine how the stay could have been better. Amed is an appellation which brings together around ten villages located on the coast and extends over several kilometers of coastline, on several coves. The beaches are black sand, often with pebbles, very often with fishing boats on almost the entire surface. Bali Bhuana Beach Cottages is located on Lipah Beach, 4 coves from the village through which you enter Amed (coming from Singaraja and Tulamben). The buildings here are spaced further apart than in the first coves, Lipah Beach is without pebbles and the rare fishermen's boats parked there, on a small part of the beach, are raised so that the entire beach is... a beach (nothing to do with Jemeluk for example, where you cannot put one foot in front of the other and which is only of interest for launching into the water for the dive sites of the same name). In addition to the possibility of relaxing in peace and quiet, Lipah Beach is also a very good snorkeling site, from just in front of the hotel to its southern end, where the diving spot is aptly named: Turtle Point. The hotel is made up of a building with 8 rooms (4 on the ground floor and 4 upstairs) and 3 bungalows. In the extension, the dining room, the swimming pool, and the beach. We were in the building (2 rooms on the ground floor and 1 upstairs). The rooms are really spacious, I think a good big 40m2, super large bedding, good air conditioning, a water fountain and a fridge in the room, a large closet, a furnished terrace. The bathroom is functional, with a special mention for the shower for its very decorative small pebble floor. Wayan, the owner, is the definition of why the Balinese are so popular: considerate, always smiling, solving everything with serenity. He even came with us diving, drove one of the rented scooters for a day's ride (Taman Ujung, Ampalura, Tirta Gangga...). And the pompom, our last evening when he offered to fetch us barracudas directly from the fishermen and to barbecue them on the beach. An extraordinary moment. At €38 per night including breakfast, it’s a delight to stay there.
