PRETTY PLACE, OFF THE MAIN TOURIST CIRCUIT
The hotel is set in a quiet location with gorgeous views of Mount Agung and you are surrounded by lush rice fields. You can order dinner from the onsite restaurant and that is a big help since the hotel is located far away from the town center. The staff is friendly but they need to be trained a little more to better explain things to guests when you check in.For example the room key works one way when you lock the door from the outside and works the other way when you lock the door from the inside. However, no one told me this and I spent MANY frustrated moments tinkering with the door lock.To be fair, the staff was super helpful and attentive once I expressed all my concerns. It was also sometimes a bit hard to actually locate a staff member. You had to amble around until you spotted someone helping another guest, or saw them in the kitchen etc.The main problem I had during my stay was that there was a gecko inside my room that kept making weird noises and pooping regularly. The staff tried to get rid of it but it promptly came back into the room through gaps in the rafters.I could not leave anything open inside the room and had to make sure everything was closed at all times so that nothing got into my luggage. That was a hassle not to mention the fact that I was petrified of cohabiting with a gecko.Staying in Selat was a convenient jumping-off point for East Bali and this place was a good choice. However the place needs some improvements that can elevate it to the next level.
