The Elementum

This was a nice hotel with kind staff, clean rooms and nice breakfast. be aware that the room door leading to the outside bathroom does not lock though.

Elementum is a GREAT place to stay! The staff are really nice and friendly, always willing to help and genuine! The room is great with nice view. I like the outdoor shower a lot, and I don’t know how they manage to keep that area insets free! Highly recommended!

If that sounds extreme, imagine waking up at 4am on your first night to the horrific smell of drains, then getting out of bed to investigate and finding yourselves standing in sewage water in your bedroom in your bare feet. The drains had overflowed due to heavy rain, leading to the outside bathroom being flooded with the hotel's raw sewage water, which came straight into our bedroom under the door. The night supervisor was helpful in carrying our bags to a new room, but we had to walk back into the sewage several times in our flip flops to gather our belongings. We were transferred to a new room at 5am. It was a suite for a family with a young baby, but it was up an external metal spiral staircase, and the rain was so noisy on the roof - would be very difficult to get a baby and buggy up there and back down again. Much less significant things to point out: On arrival in our original room, the bedsheet was stained, there was an ant in the bed, and when I put my clothes on top of the wardrobe due to the limited space, the wardrobe light disconnected. All a bit cramped. The hotel umbrellas were broken. We left the next day and had an excellent stay at the nearby Radisson Blu. Management processed our refund quickly, but the gesture of goodwill of a refund on our evening meal and a voucher for a 2 night stay in the future does not seem adequate compensation for being exposed to the sewage gases and being in contact with the sewage water. I still have a cough and cold, probably caused by wandering about outside in the middle of the night in the pouring rain, in my pyjamas. Service and food in the restaurant was excellent. Recommendation: Go there for a meal, but not to stay. If you do stay, avoid Room 1, which is downstream of everyone else's accommodation!

Very cool, friendly, stunning views with delicious food and drinks. We were really impressed by Elementum and the whole atmosphere there. We got super service and spot on recommendations for restaurants, gym etc etc. Also had a top notch massage and manicure in their mini-spa. Strongly recommend
