M Box Seminyak

This was my first hostel in Bali. It’s big and not very busy. The atmosphere was dreary due to the lack of people and the dimly lit and drab feel of the place. It seems like it may have had a glorious past but now is in need of a refresh. The staff are nice but don’t have much to do and aren’t proactive in creating an atmosphere. I had a private room that was pokey, dimly lit and not clean. Would not recommend.

The facilities are not that good. The trash cans are very small. They don't clean the room every day and have no change of towels. The bedsheets are quite dirty and the room is so dark. The aircon for the dorm is so noisy. The most I hated here was when Trip.com did not inform the hotel about my booking and payment. So the hotel put me in the wrong room and they asked me to add additional payment. This is a very hassle cause I have to explain it to the receptionist. Overall its fine for solo traveler but not for families.

Staff very friendly and helpful, bed came with a breakfast which got changed to half pizza, big bathroom with lot of showerrooms, washroom with shampoo, soap and hair dryers, the rooms have no storage so it gets really messy since everyone puts their stuff on the floor and there isn't a lot of space for that, no windows in the rooms, there were some problems with electricity - the power was going off and on, had a good night sleep though and it was an okay hostel experience
