Quick stop over for 2 nights. First time in Bali. The place was perfect. Amazingly chill and private. Lovely staff and a gorgeous part of the world. Snorkelling spots were dope ! A few vegan options on the menu and the staff were very helpful to to get vegan options sorted out with the kitchen… Private pool and villa under the stars on a mountain with birds and dragonflies etc et. Exceptional.

No AC first night, no real solution. Slept on couch after paying $275 for the night. Rat feces on the floor. Second day it was raining and we wanted to watch tv. It took the staff 2 hours to get it working. Found a drink voucher online for two free drinks during happy hour but they wouldn’t honor it. I’m not sure why but I was tired of arguing with them. Finally, on the last day my son had an ear infection, so they called a dr to my room who charged me 1.5 million IDR. It would have been nice to have an idea of what the fee would be. Lastly, we went on a dive that morning and should have returned by noon but unforeseen issues made us late. I asked the dive company to call before 12 to say that they could remove our items from the room (they were all packed and ready) but instead they were very rude when we arrived and asked if we would be extending our stay. The manager was incredibly condescending and inflexible even though he claimed to be flexible. I did everything I could to communicate and was very apologetic even though my stay there was already less than desirable.

Amed is great for divers, but for a family getaway, perhaps not the best option. the location itself offers very poor infrastructure, no walking paths, no good restaurants nearby. However, some good temples and other attractions are nearby. As per the hotel, it should not be rated at 5* for sure. At 5* locations, you'd expect great food (the food at the hotel was very average, bland at times, and after staying for 7 days, you keep eating the same things over and over). You'd expect a 5* location to have fresh mangoes, fresh coconuts, and generally a good selection of exotic fruits (of which the island is abundant), but these could not be provided/sourced (nb: after our comment to reception, they did make an effort and bought some coconuts). the view from the villa was great, the villa itself felt very dated (old), although generally it had everything one requires. In Amed, Griya is probably one of the best hotels around, however East of Bali is not plush with infrastructure, good trendy hotels, like Ubud for example.

Very nice place, good service and good food. The villas are first class and clean. The staff is friendly and considerate. The view from the hotel is unique. The airport shuttle was on time and the car was new and clean. Likewise the children were taken into account in every way

We truly enjoyed our stay at The Griya Villas. Location was superb for diving with many dive shops and dive sites just around the corner. Hotel staff did a wonderful job in accommodating all our wishes. They also went above and beyond to get our lost luggage from the airport. Food at the restaurant was tasty, nicely presented and great value for the money. We also appreciated a possibility to have breakfast at our villa, especially during the early mornings we went for a dive. Only drawback was very small flies(?) which occasionally bothered us during the night. Overall a great stay, excellent service at this interesting and less touristy part of Bali!

BLUFF: The hotel claims to have first-class facilities, but it's a lie, in villa 10 where I stayed, the rooms really need to be painted, the curtains, some of which are broken and others are broken and don't close completely, they never cleaned the swimming pool. my villa, they never changed the water in the tub for more than 48 hours, the employees are very lazy, I can't speak for all the employees being like that, they are just trying to see and snoop, in my experience I think Hannu the manager has to pay more attention to the service and quality of their guests, I believe there is some racism if it exists on the part of the hotel, let's remember that in any business the leader is the one who has to pay attention and motivate his team, really if you are European or from a country that interests them, then I believe they will treat you well, remind us that we are all equal in this life without distinction and favoritism, in fact They do not clean the room, animals everywhere, I understand that we are in the jungle and outdoors , but that is not an excuse to pay attention to those minimum details, in my own experience, the cleaning team said that I had left orders not to come to clean, which is a lie, my driver told them in their language to clean , and they never did it, in fact I am adding the poop that was on my sleeping bed, they switched off me for the air conditioning of one of the areas of the villa and they have no right to do it because they know that the heat here is strong, and When you arrive at your villa the only thing you want is to be comfortable, that is why you pay that amount. Don't get carried away by the photographs, quality and customer service is super elementary and basic to continue growing as a team. From my point of view, I believe Hannu, the manager, never communicated to offer any apology and to be able to address the issue as the manager that he is, a bit of Ego and greatness, let's remember that humble people are the ones who have the most, not the one who arrives trying to pretend. Please do your research properly next time and of course there are better places to stay and your vacation will be a success and you will enjoy it. much to be desired and disappointed. My review expressed it from heart and love so that we can continue growing in our lives as humans. no heart feelings. NO LEADERSHIP as a team. I will never stay in this place again.

From the first email with the owner/manager to the last goodbye we were treated like royalty! We were greeted on day one by Andy Wayan and a delicious refreshing drink before being driven to our villa which was STUNNING. A towel/flower arrangement was waiting in our room congratulating us on our wedding anniversary along with a cake in the fridge. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and they were all such gorgeous lovely people. During our stay we indulged in a private dinner by our pool for our anniversary, daily breakfast, drinks on the rooftop, quite a few dinners and a pamper session at the day spa. The staff organised a driver for us and the use of a scooter during our stay. The villa was flawless - plenty of room, private pool, jacuzzi, jaw dropping views, privacy, lush gardens that were so well maintained. The indoor/outdoor ensuite is just beautiful. The complex is in a great location with views to Lombok and Agung from the rooftop bar. It’s not too far from the heart of Amed but will require a scooter or driver. There’s so much positive information I want to share about this amazing place but I think the best I can say is, book it, book it and experience it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed. I’d also love to single everyone of your staff Mr Martonen for recognition however I didn’t catch all their names. Suffice to say, all of the staff we encountered during our stay from the 2nd-7th Feb 24 were absolute fantastic and should be rewarded. The lady who conducted our special dinner, the ladies at breakfast, the rooftop staff and Andy Wayan in particular. We have only been back home for two weeks but are already working on our plan to return.
