For now, I got off the bike at the Royal Palace, searched for a nearby affordable hotel that had vacancies on the day, and found it here. Although it is a small hotel with only 4 rooms along Hanoman Road, you can feel the Balinese a**osphere. There was no problem with the air conditioner, and there was a decent amount of hot shower. The only thing I was concerned about was the sink's poor drainage, but I think that's worth the price. Having breakfast in the courtyard had a nice a**osphere, and the beautiful chirping echoed from the cloth-covered birdcage made for a nice stay.

Fantastic experience- the family are wonderful, the room well furnished, comfortable bed, good internet, great location, very clean. I will return. Staying in a family home stay gave a beautiful experience of local culture. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. So many great cafes within short walking distance. I think the location is central.

When my wife and I arrived at Sapta House in Ubud, we couldn't believe how beautiful and special the home stay was. When we walked through the beautiful entry door we felt like we had walked into a palace. The grounds are decorated in traditional Balanise style with temples, lovely garden, sculptures and ornate decorations. We were greeted with big smiles by the owners and their family. They all made us feel very welcome. We were shown to our room which was located on the top floor and had fantastic views over the guest house and surrounding neighbourhood. Our room was large, clean and had air-conditioning. The bathroom was also large and spotlessly clean. We found the bed to be very comfortable and thought our room was surprisingly quiet considering the location of the home stay. Sapta House is located right in the heart of Ubud and so close to restaurants and shops. From here we walked to the monkey forest, Saraswati Temple and many other beautiful places. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. We wished we could have stayed for longer. All the family were extremely friendly and helpful. Any questions we had were always answered and we just loved staying there. The owners of Sapta House have a gift shop just out side selling clothes, insence and other gift items. We purchased some things from their shop as the money goes straight to the family. I highly recommend Sapta House to anyone wanting a traditional home stay experience. The owners are young and very friendly. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. I wish them the best of luck with their beautiful home stay. Next time we return to Ubud, we are definitely staying here again, but next time for a little longer.
