My best friend and I have stayed in Seminyak many times over the past 9 years. Our favourite hotel of choice was unfortunately a victim of the pandemic and so the challenge was to find an alternative special place to stay to mark his 70th birthday. Through my family I discovered Villas Sabbia and so we stayed for 8 nights at Villas Sabbia Two in December. (As an aside, I also stayed alone for 2 nights at Villas Sabbia One in October to get a feel for what might be expected at the December stay). I did have some issues initially with trying to successfully make the booking online and needed to contact the villa’s owner Kim who was fantastic in processing my payments and assuring me that the booking was secure. The other issues that I had prior to the stay were (I guess) simply issues of timing. By this I mean that between the time of my initial booking and the date of our stay there was a change in the company that managed the villa and unfortunately, some of the things that I relied upon that were advertised on the website (for example, provision of a low cost cooked breakfast) were no longer applicable and this was disappointing. Future guests need not worry about this - the website is now updated! And so to our stay. The villa is located in a fantastic (and surprisingly quiet) location in Seminyak. It is just a short walk from the beach, as well as restaurants, shops, supermarkets and spas. The villa is beautifully appointed, and spacious. The bedrooms, with large, comfortable 4 poster beds and mosquito nets, are air-conditioned so sleeping at night was comfortable. The pool is absolutely fabulous! I’ve never swum in a pool that is so warm and we made use of it (and the poolside lounger chairs) morning, afternoon and night. In short, the villa really was a home away from home for us and we were very sad when the time came to leave. We were a group of 4 and so staying together in a villa rather than a hotel turned out to be the best decision, especially staying in this little piece of paradise. I do need to say that we did encounter some cleanliness and maintenance issues that really shouldn’t have needed us to point them out. Hats off to Villas Sabbia though - Kelly (Guest Services Representative) personally visited us the same day and arranged for these problems to be resolved which we were grateful for. I would like to think that our voicing of these issues to management (rather than staying silent) will make the experience all the more better for those staying in future. We would also love to say a big thank you to Ngakan for his work in cleaning and tidying the villa each day and for ensuring that the issues that we raised with him were promptly addressed. He is a delightful and hard working young man! All in all I would say that Villas Sabbia Two is an absolutely fabulous place to stay. Yes, the issues mentioned above mean that I have given 4 stars rather than the 5 I would have liked to have given. Hopefully our helpful feedbac
