My recent stay at Komaneka at Monkey Forest left an indelible impression, characterized by a combination of spacious and tranquil accommodations, exceptional amenities, and genuinely attentive staff. The 5-star experience commenced with a well-appointed and serene room, offering a spacious environment that was both restful and relaxing. The array of amenities provided by the resort was truly remarkable. The attention to detail was evident in every facet, from the well-maintained grounds to the thoughtfully curated in-room features. The seamless blend of modern comfort and traditional aesthetics added a unique charm to the overall ambiance. One aspect that stood out remarkably was the staff’s kindness and attentiveness. Their commitment to ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay was palpable, and it greatly contributed to the overall positive experience. Their impeccable service went beyond expectations, creating an atmosphere of genuine warmth. A highlight of the stay was the unexpected delight of encountering monkeys on the resort’s grounds. This added an element of natural wonder to the experience and provided a unique connection to the destination’s surroundings. The resort’s strategic location on Monkey Forest Road proved to be an ideal base for exploration. Immediate access to the vibrant Ubud market and the rich cultural activities of Ubud palace added convenience and enriched the overall stay. In conclusion, Komaneka at Monkey Forest offers a harmonious blend of relaxation and cultural immersion. The combination of serene accommodations, exceptional amenities, and attentive staff creates an atmosphere of refined luxury. My stay was enriched by the presence of monkeys on the premises, and I wholeheartedly look forward to returning. This resort is unequivocally deserving of its reputation, and I would unequivocally choose to stay here again on future visits to Ubud.

We have had a great stay here, and Gus is a great host who goes to the end to make his guests enjoy a great stay. The team he has around is working all day on making everything clean and comfortable. If sheets are on the ground, sheets are wiped, mattresses are needed for the beds are adjusted at the minute. You have to ask, our villa was unwisely clean and was as expected, the shower is also good, your room is cleaned at your request, through a plate. The villa was close to the street but there are earphones available in the room, which makes us sleep nicely. My friend was the t**** evening that we stayed here for the anniversary and I wanted to surprise her. A app to Gus was enough, he knew what he was doing right away and within 10 minutes we were discussing a menu. As agreed, he provided a dinner at candlelight next to the swimming pool with breathtaking decoration. This was really over expectation. We were even served at the pool by a warning staff who also provided the menu/dining. In general, this accommodation is a thick adviser!

Bisma eight is also a carefully selected hotel with an industrial style. The garden room of 1200 for one night, in general, personally feel that the price of this hotel is not high, the reasons are as follows: 1. The first floor of the garden house is planted too densely. There is basically no light for the room, and the floor paving stone is not refined enough. 2. The floor drain of the bathroom can smell the smell.... 3. Breakfast is a meal, but the weight is small. 4. From Ubud Palace to the hotel, it is still about 500 meters away. There is a ferry bus during the day, but it is still not safe to walk at night. In the middle, I also met several hooligan children and said something, scared to flash. . 5. The attitude of the service staff is also OK, but there is still a gap between the overall service staff of large hotels such as Hilton.

Me and my partner stayed here for 5 nights whilst we were travelling around Bali for 3 weeks. On arrival, we were warmly greeted and checked in by the staff on site. The men are helpful and always on hand if you have any questions, want to book any excursions or need any help. We were given a deluxe room on the ground floor which was clean and spacious. The bed was made daily and we were also given fresh towels and water replenished in the fridge. During our stay, we also used their laundry service which was speedy and competitively priced. All our items were returned cleaned and folded well. Breakfast was superb every morning and the bar is priced well, meaning my partner didn’t have to walk to the shop to buy Bintang. We booked several excursions through the accommodation. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore Ubud, on a road with many bars and restaurants. We found that this was all we really needed for the rest of the trip after exploring the heart of ubud on our first night. We’ve had the best stay at Kubu Tropis and couldn’t fault our time here.

Positive things first - a) property has some excellent staff - professional and service oriented (their names were hard to remember!). b) the room and bathroom are spacious c) WiFi is good d) there is a pool with a forest view e) welcome drink and towel were refreshing f) they offer a map to the area. Here are some things that did not work for me: a) there is a safety locker in the room - which was very hard to operate b) the place itself is a bit hard to get to, through a narrow walkway and once saw a small snake in the pathway (no harm done) as the area has wet rice fields (this is not something that the hotel can change but sharing my experience) c) hotel has a transport desk but rental is priced on the higher side d) Break fast is IDR 50,000 and was OK, not great e) Property has no security barrier or security personnel (it is like a traditional balinese house) - so, basically, anybody can walk into the property f) the door of the room did not close tightly (both inside and outside) - inside, one has to use a wooden bolt and outside it is a loosely held lock - this led to some insects entering the room. as the property is amidst rice fields and trees, one cannot rule out the risk of reptiles entering into the room. g) the room had some coffee-like substance placed in a cup under the bed which had developed mold (this may be their version of room freshener but was odd). h) Property is close to the central market area but a tough walk, if it is raining heavily as the leading road is bad. Their company also has a restaurant called Nick's pension which is about 100 metres walk from the property and found the service to be poor there. All in all, this is an OK property but for concerns sighted above, I would not stay here again.
Adi Bisma Inn by Mahaputra

We stayed at Adi Bisma Inn for two weeks in February and enjoyed the time very much. The staff is genuinely nice and the owner, Adi, and his family are very helpful. We never had trouble finding anyone at the reception or working somewhere in the Inn. We stayed in two rooms. The first room was on the third floor with a lovely view of the neighboring rice field. The other room was on the second floor (below the dining area) and had a pretty ”birds-eye” view of the foliage and vegetation growing on the slope behind the inn. Our bed was really comfortable and we slept well. The room was immaculate. The staff kept everything very clean. We always had plently of bottled water and there is a small refrigerator in our room. I enjoyed the breakfasts especially because we had delicious fresh fruit every day. When we were there, we had papaya, pineapple and watermelon. The other breakfast dishes (along w/ the fruit) were good too. There are good restaurants on Jalan Bisma, for lunch or dinner, and a close convenience store. It's easy to find a taxi or it's a short walk to Jalan Raya with. If you would like to do some sightseeing or try an activity (bike ride, cooking class, traditional wood carving class, etc), the owner Adi is a good resource. He got us a driver to take us to some coffee plantations, a rice field and the volcano. It was really fun. We also took a cooking class and had a bike tour of countryside areas. Adi can help you arrange activities and transportation. My only complaint is that the afternoon, Jalan Bisma, the street where Adi Bisma Inn is located, gets very crowded with motorbikes and cars, and walking is less enjoyable. We heartily recommend Adi Bisma Inn and if we return to Ubud, we will try to stay there again.
