Where do I start we simply loved everything about our stay at the edition. We stayed here April 18th - 21st and the staff specifically the concierge, night bell man on the 18th and front desk were beyond helpful and accommodating. I unfortunately lost the card with their names but those three guys helped my mom and I tremendously - from recommendations, transportations and other tidbits which made our stay very special. Lou Lou on the rooftop was exceptional and actually would remember our morning order which added that extra touch of personalization and guest service. Lisa I believe was her name at the rooftop bar (evening) was also fabulous. The Edition hotel is one of my favorite luxury boutique hotels and the Barcelona one didn’t disappoint - the rooms were gorgeous, clean and well appointed. The rooftop had breath taking views and the bar on the 1st floor was great for a nightcap. On top of the service, great rooms the hotel was in an exceptional location which made exploring super easy! We spent three days here and then moved to the W and it was nowhere near the level of luxury service - quite frankly we regretted having not stayed at the Edition for our entire stay!

My daughter is currently studying abroad, and for her spring break we had planned on meeting in Barcelona, where neither of us had visited before. Freezing temperatures and snow in the United States unfortunately tampered with our plans, and I was then detained and unable to join her. At first I was nervous, but the Hotel Arts took amazing care of my daughter as she experienced her first solo vacation - and loved every moment. From all she has told me, it sounds like the Hotel Arts made a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience in every way. Special shout out to the incredible bar staff in the lobby bar who gave her an amazing list of restaurants, bars, and site recommendations. Bartenders Alex, Nicola and Diego, whose service went above and beyond, by her report, were welcoming, gracious, and terrific hosts. My daughter also tells me the woman who helped her with check in and check out was wonderfully friendly and helped her arrange a taxi for her departure and also gave some local tips. Her name, however, seemed Catalan and my daughter cannot remember how to spell it. On check-in my daughter was given both a spa and drink voucher, both of which were very much appreciated, and put to good use. In the room as well, was a lovely gift of fresh clementines, which I am told tasted wonderful. The location of the Hotel Arts is also perfect, sitting on the beach and close to attractions and public transportation. The amenities were also wonderful, and the gym was clean, spacious, and had lovely equipment. The property itself is gorgeous, with astounding views of the Mediterranean. This hotel truly held up to Ritz Carlton and 5 star standard, and every part of her experience far exceeded expectations. She couldn’t have been in safer hands and I am so glad she has such a good experience at the Hotel Art. She recommends it so highly that we are now changing our summer vacation plans from France to Barcelona. we look very much to returning to this amazing property!

The hotel was in the heart of the gothic quarter and conveniently located to museums, restaurants, and Metro stations. It is a beautiful building and the room was immaculate. The best part of the Mercer, however, is the staff, who were very professional, kind, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend it if you are traveling to Barcelona, and look forward to returning some time.

Super lovely hotel. The staff is one of a kind, warm and helpful. Location is superb cuz its so close to one of my favorite areas in Barcelona, which is the El Born area. Its in front of the beautiful beach port so the view up on the terrace bar is awesome. Also, get some time to walk around the port area and park. The breakfast was so so to me. Quite pricey (32eu) for what the have. Rather you should go to Bobo or Hoffman nearby for some nice croissants. One down side is the cords and not right next to the bed stand. It was underneath which was quite inconvenient, compared to where a lot of hotels has the usb plugs right by the bed these days

This is the second time I stayed at this hotel: I stayed here 17 years ago in my first visit to Barcelona although I could not remember much of my experience then. I decided to stay at the Hotel Royal Ramblas in my second visit to Barcelona for 5 nights in September 2022 because of its good location. I must say its location on La Rambla is excellent and exceptional. It is close to many popular tourist attractions, it's just a few minutes walk to Plaza Catalunya metro station, and bus stops at Plaza Catalunya for the hop on hop off buses. Port Veil and the beach are within walking distance. The room we got on the Planta Royal (just one floor above the breakfast restaurant) was comfortable and clean. Although the room is facing La rambla it is extremely quiet during the night. The wifi was fast, the shower was great and the aircon was so quiet and effective. The breakfast was excelent throughout our stay and the staff at the reception were very helpful and freindly. I will definitely recommend this hotel for visitors to Barcelona. One complaint I would like to make is that for a four star hotel, there isn't any tissue paper in the room. I have to buy one box of tissue papers from Carrefour nearby. But in my opinion Hotel Royal Ramblas is an excellent hotel and I would stay there agin in my next visit.

The room was clean. Good location, seven or eight hundred meters from the beach, about two kilometers from the Sagrada Familia, and about two kilometers from the sailing pier (the casino is here, the tourist gathering place), one kilometer past is the passenger terminal, and another one or two kilometers past is Monte Hui Qishan. Barcelona is the largest city in Spain. Although the population is only 1.6 million, in this big city, it is impossible to choose a hotel not far away. I especially like the streets of Barcelona, leaving two lanes on both sides, with a wide open space in the middle, and nearby shops setting up tables and drinking at night. Probably because of its large area and small population, it is so suitable for living.

When first booking our trip to Barcelona, it was a little overwhelming the amount of properties one could choose from. After a bit of review and consideration we decided on the Hotel Olivia Balmes. We were most interested in finding a hotel that was centrally located, emphasized comfort and cleanliness, & had in room central air conditioning (given our late summer travel). The hotel hit top marks in all. We also used the pool and ate breakfast which were both excellent. I would not hesitate to book a stay here. The front desk staff were also very kind and available 24 hours a day.

Calling it a swimming pool is a lie, feel ripped off. When you select a hotel with a swimming pool, the prices went up by £300-400 for our stay, so a hefty increase, but they didn't have one. It was 1 foot deep, that's not a pool, if you can't swim in it then it's a glorified puddle. Breakfast was vile, only edible part was the croissants, which seems pricey for £9 per day. Bed was relatively cosy, but on wheels and made so much noise any time either of us moved in the slightest. There was a buzzing sound that went off from the fan every 5 seconds, not too bad during the day, but when you're trying to sleep then it was a nightmare. The staff were friendly at reception, the bright spark that kept us from going elsewhere as we were really tempted. Wouldn't book again.

Two nights stay in comfortable and largish rooms opposite pool area so we only had to open room door and step across corridor and we were at the pool which was small but ample and our 10 and 12 year old enjoyed it as did I. Bathroom was smoked glass and a door gaps and so not enough privacy there but it seems to be the trend these days. Bed was comfortable and I had a good sleep although people coming back late at night opening and closing their doors frequently was annoying. Staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. Location was great for getting to a number of places and there are plenty of bars and restaurants very close by. I'd stay again for sure.

I've stayed with this hotel for a number of times now, I would think about 7 times also before covid. The company I work for has also sent quite a few others to this hotel over the years. After this last visit I can say that it will probably not be the case anymore. To be honest, I felt like I was annoying the staff at the reception, it was always with a quick, condescending way that I was given answers. Like I was getting on their nerves. I paid almost 1.100 Euro to stay 1 week. In that time, the phone was broke, my door would not shut properly without slamming it, the room STANK !!! of sewage (I was told because of the pool filter or something and I was directly next to the pool basically in room 721 - the cleaning lady spoke no english so that's the info I understood), the breakfast was not to great standards; never was there bacon, the boiled eggs cold. The coffee machine broke, so the waitress was so angry that she was slamming chairs and saying angry stuff in spanish loudly about how management never takes care of the machine; she dropped all kinds of glasses and plates in the kitchen; then the cook came out and looked at me and rolled his eyes and shrugged (how do people in service actually work like this???) . It was unrelaxing and not worth the price at all. The only helpful and sincere person I met there was the girl at the reception who always asked how my day was, and also the room cleaning lady (the elder one with glasses). I was not even offered ANYTHING in response to having to sleep in a stinking room with no phone. I thought maybe someone would say to me ”sorry about all the inconvenience, have a wine on us” but not even that!! Only the next day I was asked if I wanted to move (I declined only because I was traveling to Valencia for 3 days on that day and I was told that afterwards it would be fixed so I didn't want to move if it would be fixed. But when I came back, only the phone was fixed - the smell was still there and the door I still had to slam). Also, my credit card was charged for a night on the first day of my stay, even tho my company pre-paid the whole stay in advance and it was confirmed. I had to wait several days before it was booked back to my account. At the checkout I was not asked once how my stay was. I would have otherwise told the guy there directly. But maybe he knew I would say something and chose not to ask anything. He was the most condescending of them all anyway. He never freely said Hello or Good bye. Only interested in himself. Horrible person and not sure how he can work in service! When he reads this he will know who I am, for sure. I did not have a welcoming or pleasant stay there this time and next time I and my company will choose another hotel for this or any other stays. If you feel too secure and think you have enough guests, then think again. Covid isn't gone and one day you will be surprised how quickly guests can leave and go somewhere else. The location was excellent and I felt very safe when out for a run in the early morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the hotel breakfast and it was perfectly acceptable -- nothing spectacular but no problems either. The shower in particular was a problem in that it drained poorly, was very slippery when wet (see: drained poorly), and caused a lot of flooding on the floor of the main bathroom, which increased the slippery danger. The beds were comfortable and I appreciated the staff leaving an extra pillow in the armoire if we wanted it.

L'Hotel è situato in una zona della città ben servita e dotata di tutti i mezzi pubblici (fermata del bus e della metropolitana), inoltre la spiaggia può essere raggiunta tranquillamente a piedi. Ho da ridire sulla dimensione delle camere, in quanto in 2 persone si faceva molta fatica a muoversi e a gestire i bagagli insieme a tutto il resto. Nulla da ridire sulla pulizia, in quanto le stanze venivano pulite accuratamente, ma la cosa che ha lasciato un po' perplessi è stata la mancanza della cassaforte e del mini frigo. Va bene che sia economico per la posizione in cui si trova, però almeno un mini frigorifero per metterci 2 bottiglie di acqua o altro non deve mancare assolutamente!!!

Rooms were set up in former apartments/flats. Ours was on floor just below reception. Facing the station, noise definitely required ear-plugs but dropped off after midnight car noises abated. English is better in their written communication than in-person and they're very responsive to email inquiry prior to staying with them. A lot would depend on who was at reception, so if you get the friendly young English proficient gal who ushered us to our flat ( allowing us to check in at noon, particularly welcome after our 'red eye' from Florida) it would be best to ask HER about Tapas bars and orientation questions. Older woman my husband muddled through with later that evening was far less fluent. Ability to leave one's luggage was welcome though very much open to 'honor' system out in their open lobby. Our 'flat', shared w/ a couple w/ young kids felt as though the noisy kids were IN our (private) bathroom, every word and body sound carried through the vents. Best to share flats between travel companions. Because we arrived on separate days the couple we were traveling with were sadly upstairs from us instead. Despite flaw, well priced and location couldn't be easier to find by train or more ideal to the Barceloneta eating /sightseeing surrounds (or our cruise ship, though you'll want a taxi to port: 14 euro/4 of us w/ 3 bags). Booking gave this a 5 rating where I feel 6 or 6.5 better reflects the value you are getting compared to the many hostels in the same area. Sadly, my review is partially biased as we were told w/I 3 weeks of coming that this Pension was overbooked and they were going to move us to a 'sister' hostel which they thankfully decided not to do when i complained that we'd had our booking 3 1/2 months ahead of time. I would have given them a slightly higher rating if it hadn't been for this unusual 'wrinkle'.
