We stayed 7 nights in this historic hotel and celebrated a special occasion during our trip. The hotel is truly beautiful & elegantly decorated, however the service levels were inconsistent and sorely disappointing for a hotel of this standard & price. Also, there was unfortunately no special factor that made this hotel memorable. Rooms - we booked a classic double room for 3 people & got upgraded to a deluxe room on a high floor. While I appreciated the upgrade and the room decor was beautiful, the bathroom (while spacious) was in visible need of refurbishment. The paint was badly peeling in certain parts, the closet doorknob came off on our third day, the glass shower door wouldn't close fully so the bathroom got wet during a shower. I'm not expecting a newly renovated room but for the price, the room should at least be in good working condition. Housekeeping - was very inconsistent and there was a severe lack of attention to detail. Some examples: - Upon check in, the room curtain was unhooked from the first hook and messily hanging - it took 3 days for housekeeping to finally notice & fix this. - For the entirety of our stay, all room amenities were provided for 2 (not 3) people despite us having booked & paid for 3 people. - Used wine glasses & water mugs were not washed for several days until we called housekeeping to do so. - On several days, I came back to my luggage having been moved haphazardly (I think they were trying to make up the extra bed) and not put back in its place. - Turn down service was done beautifully on some days and not at all on other days. Rooftop terrace - was a gorgeous place to dine, food was excellent and the service was lovely. We felt very welcome here and it was a real treat dining here! Definitely try the rooftop terrace at least once! Front desk, concierge and bellman were excellent. The concierge was helpful with dining recommendations and guest relations gave us a cake for the special occasion we were celebrating. The bellman was attentive to get us taxis & always greeted us with a smile. Breakfast - is definitely worth a try! The breakfast room is beautiful and the drawing room leading to it is so regal & gorgeous. Generous spread of food & service was warm as well. Amar - dined here & paid over 400 euros but it was a shockingly disappointing experience. The bread, starters, petit fours & decor were wonderful - but the 200 euros of seafood we ordered was not fresh at all and the service was disinterested & careless. We were abit shocked at how bad it was for a Michelin restaurant. Bluesman cocktail bar - did not try. There's a 50 euro per pax minimum spend but perhaps this could be waived for hotel guests who are already paying a lot for a room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but felt greatly let down by the service standards at this otherwise lovely hotel. Unfortunately, I highly doubt I'd return here again but sincerely hope the hotel improves its service standards to match its elega

We stayed for 4 nights for my 70th birthday. Generally the hotel was OK however what we didn't know is that there is a school either side of the hotel and they were playing basketball (noisily) till 10.30pm on the night we arrived so we could use the balcony or have the patio doors open. The noise started again @ 08.00 on Friday morning. The hotel has 24hr tea & coffee facilities on the 1st floor (our room was on the 3rd floor) but also has a kettle in the room. The hotel only uses paper cups and after the 2nd day ours were ever replenished. On the 2nd day the shower tray filled with water and overflowed under the door when my wife had her shower. I had to wait quite a while to let the water flow away before I could have mine. When we were leaving that morning, we told the concierge (Daniel) who said he would get it sorted. When we came back in the evening the grating and insert had been removed from the tray (and were never put back). We had not had any towels left in our room and we had come back with barely an hour. to change & go out. We spoke to the girl on the desk and asked if it was OK to use the shower and to get us some towels. She had no information about the shower and said she would get us some towels. When she didn't come within 15 minutes with them my wife went back down Ater initially saying she couldn't leave the desk as she was the only person on, came up with towels. Checking the floor adjacent to the shower (which had a mat over it) it is obvious that the problem with the shower is not new and has never been satisfactorily sorted which is disappointing.

We found this hotel by accident, as I knew we wanted to be in this area but had been looking at other hotels online. WHAT A FIND! We stayed 1 night, traveled , and stayed another 3 nights upon return to BCN. The hotel location is ideal, on Gran Via de la Corts Catalans (previously, under Franco, Avda Jose Antonio). Walk 1 block and you're on Paseo de Gracia, a major promenade with restaurants and shops the likes of Dior and Fendi, as well as a large Barsa store for futbol fans, fascinating architure by Gaudi and others. Walk 2 blocks south to Plaza Catalunya, and from there venture down the Ramblas and into the Gothic Quarter (the Old City). The Sagrada Familia is a short walk in the other direction. The hotel itself, clearly ideally situated, is a warm, welcoming, pleasurable experience. the lobby boasts a Nespresso machine, with capsules, pastries, fruited water, and even umbrellas to borrow. Delia at the front desk is incredible. She speaks fluent English, as well as Castillian and Catalan of course, all with a huge smile and personality to match. She provides excellent recommendations for tapas, restuarants, transportation, neighborhoods and attractions. Felipe and Ian take care of the front lobby, luggage, and guests' needs, as well as also recommendations for food and such. They speak fluent English and I also overheard Felipe chatting in French with guests. When our room was not yet ready on day-1, Felipe brought us up to the terrace with pool for peaceful relaxation. Our stay at thes hotel was a major factor in our enjoyment of Barcelona. We definitely plan to return!

We stayed in three, two adults and one boy, the clean environments. The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable to take the metro and especially to walk to Barcelona (we never took the metro, always walked ). Someone wrote that there is the problem of light, there were electrical staples in our apartment, so there was no problem. In the end, if we were to go back to Barcelona, we'll be back here ...! The only thing I didn't like, is the lead that they put on the boy's single bed in the living room, was sleeved with candle and seemed not very clean ... for the rest super satisfied!

WILL COME BACK AGAIN FOR SURE! I chose this hotel becos it looked so nice in the photos and it didnt disappoint us at all! The design was gorgeous and was very luxurious, classic yet modern at the same time. Pros: - Front desk staff was very kind and helpful with good English. - Our room was spacious with everything we needed. You dont have to worry about shower gel, shampoo, AND conditioner. Shower/ water pressure was super strong thank god. - Windows were openable and we were facing the main street. Zara, Bershka.. everything is there, also a supermarket (called Aldo? closes at 2100) right next to the hotel. - Breakfast was not included in our package but we accidentally entered and tried and the food was good! Worth to try if you have no plan on what to eat in the morning. - Free coffee on the 1/F for all guests and a very spacious common area there Cons: - Our room was a connection room so the sound proofing was weak, I couldn’t even turn on music when showering cos I felt like I would be complained for sure. - One thing to highlight is the hair dryer - it was the WORST no joke. I understand it has to fit with the hotel design in metal elements but this hair dryer is heavy like a rock. Every time I had to struggle to use it cos it’s like training my arm muscles lol - Not sure why they gave us two single beds putting together but they moved easily so we slept separately all the time lol and the bed itself was too soft? so we felt like earthquake and a bit seasick lol when we turned our bodies.

Kept our expectations low but were rewarded on arrival with the location and standards in this hotel especially in relation to the price we paid. Good welcome on arrival and offered a room at the front of the hotel with a small balcony overlooking the Gran Via. You can hear the traffic but this is a busy city and that is the reality and wasn’t that bad at night to be honest. Room was spotless and beds comfortable, toiletries were appreciated. Well done housekeeping. Maintenance also brilliant after an issue with the roomsafe. Breakfast was brilliant with plenty choice definitely more than a standard continental breakfast. The staff were welcoming and constantly clearing the tables and checking the produce. Calm place to sit before a busy day of sightseeing. Reception staff acknowledged you on entering and leaving the hotel with a smile. Had a fantastic break.

Advantages: Good location, convenient to walk and ride by car. The hotel is very high value and relatively new. There is a very simple coffee break and the reception service is good. Disadvantages: There is decoration taste, the wardrobe is very obvious, the tap water message is very heavy, stayed for four days, it is very uncomfortable to use. There was only one pack of paper towels in four days, and there was no supplement. It’s a bit strange to re-authorize through Ctrip.

Stayed here for two nights. I was greeted by the lovely check in staff. I believe there were three each greeted before I was checked-in by one of them I believe her name was ”Alma”. She made sure I knew everything the hotel has on offer like the pool and bar/restaurants. I was offered an upgrade as part of my membership and breakfast. The breakfast was very nice and it was of decent size. I wasn't offered a cooked meal so I am unsure if this is on offer. The room was big and had all the expected amenities. The shower was nice and the shower gel that I used was very nice from a store called rituals. The hotel itself is in a central location nearby many of the places you would want to go to in the city. I just want to say that all the staff made me feel welcome and made my stay brillant. I'm terrible with names but the housekeeping team, security team and the front desk team were all brillant. Thank you for making my first stay in Barcelona memorable.
