Sir Victor Hotel, part of Sircle Collection

Very good location V convenient

Beautiful, quirky hotel in a fantastic location just off Passeig de Gracia, very near Casa Mila/La Pedrera and Casa Batllo. Even though in a busy part of the city, the hotel was quiet and felt insulated to city noises. We had a very comfortable room on the first floor with a balcony. The water closet and sink/tub/shower were separate which was nice for two people. We arrived early and were offered the use of the bathroom facilities in the spa to change and freshen up, which we much appreciated. Front desk and bell staff were very helpful with luggage, taxis, etc. We had hoped to enjoy the rooftop pool and bar but unfortunately it was packed every time we tried to go. Otherwise, a very enjoyable stay.

We stayed for four nights at Sir Victor and my first impression was good, very good. It is located very close to the 'Diagonal' and Pg. de Gracia, two main thoroughfares with a variety of brand names stores. The room overlooked a Main Street but when I opened the door I looked directly into the toilet area. it was weird and quirky layout with no hand washing facilities in the loo space. To do so one had to walk through bedroom area, around a peninsular unit to get to the bathroom. The floor to ceiling windows opened but due to the interior design one window would clash with a mirror on the centre wardrobe unit and evidence of it doing so was clearly visible. The restaurant and breakfast room was located on the ground floor and was staffed by willing and able personnel. However I did take objection to some female members who thought it acceptable to reveal far too much of their body features at evening dinner - it would be far more appropriate, if the hotel wishes to make the evening dining an elegant experience, to dress staff in a distinct formal uniform. Additionally on our first dinner, a DJ played some form of head-banging music which could be felt as well as heard: the noise was an aural assault and necessitated people to shout across their tables to conduct any form of conversation. But I should mention the food which was well prepared, tasty and of sufficient proportions that diners would not leave feeling empty and the breakfast was exceptional, in terms of staff and food. The spa was all it promised with sauna, steam room, hot and cold pools but as there was a 45 minute visit limitation we thought it would be beneficial to install a clock. The Hotel boasts a rooftop bar and pool, but the pool lacks dimensions. Staff at this location exhibited a lackadaisical and devil-may-care attitude on our first visit where after being given a drinks menu we waited 20 minutes to be served - we were not served and we left.
