Sadly felt let down by this lovely old hotel. Views are mixed with gorgeous sea view and rows of council houses and camp site. Conservatory depending on where you sit has numerous windows that have blown and need replacing so obscuring your view. As a solo traveller in room 9 it was not good at all, partition wall not sufficient to keep out any noise from next room, every time they went to bathroom I could hear every single sound, the extracta fan sounded like a helicopter outside my room. Did not reserve my dinner table as requested so ate very late on 2nd night, waiter got my order wrong ,but gave no apology at all, in fact his service was extremely disappointing. On the plus side owners did apologise and were very friendly hard working people . Breakfast very nice. Sadly I will not return.

Lovely hotel with stunning views over the beaches and Cardigan Bay. The hotel was built as a large private house in the 1800's and has 11 bedrooms. We stayed in a turret room which was gorgeous. We had 3 large windows. 2 overlooked the bay and the other overlooking the hill behind. Food was great (but very large portions). The owners Mike and Trudy are amazing. They are so friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They are ably assisted by Victor. We spent many a happy evening laughing with Victor in the restaurant. The three of them make it a very special place to stay. We really hope that we can go back next May as we came home missing this beautiful place and the people who we now class as friends.

A very welcoming arrival and accommodating landlords. We arrived by motorcycle and were immediately shown a more secure area to park which was very appreciated thank you. We stayed in a turret room number 8 with beautiful views of the long coastline. Staff were very flexible with our daily plans doing what they could to let us get away quickly in the morning. A great location for travelling north or south from the hotel. Good morning brekky, all nice and clean, traditional homely feel about the premises. We'd stay here again if in the area. Thank you

Just stayed here a couple of nights for a quick break. Excellent hotel with lovely owners and staff. Ideally placed just on the outskirts of Barmouth with lively sea views. Thank you to all there for a great couple of nights, wouldn't think twice about returning. Had a rear room first night and sea view turret room second, both great.

We had a really lovely stay with the incredibly kind and helpful Trudy and Mike. I just love this hotel. Our rooms were spotless and we had a terrific cooked breakfast and spent part of the afternoon looking out at the amazing views of Cardigan Bay .

Excellent hotel with great views across the bay. Full of original character and as expected from a historical building. Trudy and Mike made us feel very welcome and I could probably talk to trudy all day having originally come from Barmouth so knowing the area. The breakfast was great, a buffet and also cooked option. The hotel is in a great location to enables you to explore the local area as well as the town of Barmouth.Harlech castle, Portmeirion and snowdonia all within an hour or just over by car. Hotel has WiFi, sea views from the room, we had a balcony which was an added bonus. I don’t have anything negative at all to say. Well worth the stay. Made to feel so welcome. Myself and partner shall return.
