"We were very disappointed with our stay because of the strong smell in both the bedroom and the bathroom. The unpleasant odour was noticeable as soon as we opened the room door on arrival. It was so bad that even the staff member who showed us the room covered his nose with his finger, so it was clearly noticeable. We hoped the smell would improve by opening the windows, but unfortunately it remained throughout our entire 2 night stay. We even had to use our own room freshener, but the odour was still too strong to mask. This made our stay very uncomfortable and significantly affected our overall experience. We hope this issue is investigated and resolved so future guests do not have the same experience."

"No clothes furniture in the room! Nowhere to hang a coat or shirt and nowhere to put tops. No cupboard, no drawer unit and no coat hooks. Just an empty room with a bed.........really! The hotel looks grand and the location is excellent. We had an amazing sea view and the reception we received was just perfect. There was a lift which I hadn't expected so was a welcome bonus. Upon entering the room we were surprised there was literally no furniture for clothes. As I said, the view was amazing and we just laughed about no furniture, it was our weekend joke but in reality, it's just not acceptable, is it? They are obviously going through a few changes at the moment which probably involves some refurbishment also. We were told the restaurant wasn't open during our stay before we arrived which was fine but then on our checkout morning there were breakfasts being served. Were these for other guests, did we miss the change of status?!"

"This hotel is in a great location with excellent views. Car is needed as it is up a very steep hill although if you are fit and healthy it is a good walk into the town. Gary and his staff are very pleasant and welcoming. The bedrooms are large and clean with beautiful bathrooms. There is a well stocked bar in the lounge which is available 24 hours. The breakfast is excellent with a delightful choice of buffet food and the hot food is well cooked and nicely presented. I can not find any fault with this b&b "

"We stayed here for a couple of nights. The parking outside the front is limited and very busy but we managed to find some unrestricted parking down a side road a short walk away. We were greeted by the cleaner/helper who was friendly and checked us in. The room we stayed in was a good size. There was a view of the hill behind the hotel. The bathroom was an ok size and wasn't too bad, maybe a bit of maintenance needed. The bed was comfy and good size. There was a kettle, cups, tea and coffee. We had the cooked breakfast which was ok, there is a small selection of boxed cereal and some orange juice. The coffee was very bitter and wasn't the best. Overall the location is good, the breakfast was ok. Parking can be an issue. It is a short walk to the beach and to the centre and also the train station."
