- We first arrived at an empty house, greeted by only a dog who tried to escape the front door. - When I called the phony number on the hand-written sign, the person who greeted us was incredibly strange, telling us irrelevant stories and excuses as to why the property is a disaster. - He kept thinking I was someone else - The room he tried to put us in was occupied - When I told him it was occupied, he told us to go into the one next to it, because all of the rooms are just left unlocked with the keys in the room. - When we poked our head in there, the tip from the previous occupant was on the table and the bed coverings were off. The room smelled like low tide. - Behind the room, in the woods, was piles of trash, including a 60s-style refrigerator. - There is no breakfast, as "they haven't cleared the dining room after what happened." ??????

My husband and I were extremely disappointed. We were so disappointed, we did not stay. We were misled by the website and shame on us for not reading the online reviews prior to booking. We are now attempting to receive a refund but no one has returned our calls. We were told upon arrival that our reservation was being upgraded due to no heat in the original cabin. It was obvious the cabin had been sprayed with a deodorizer to mask the mustiness. The two simulated leather chairs were so disgusting, we would not sit on them. The entry door did not close properly. There were two bath towels in the bathroom that were neatly folded but had hair on them. There were no face or hand towels or a bath mat available. TV or remote did not work (probably dead batteries). We actually came in out of the rain and no door mat to wipe muddy feet thus tracking mud into the room. The dual light over the bathroom only had one bulb. Overall condition of the room was dated. We knew breakfast was not going to be available and were told the room was discounted. For not much more, we had a wonderful stay at another Inn in the area which included a full breakfast, a brand new mattress and extremely attentive staff.

This is the second stay at this inn. The first was Dec 2018, this last (and it will be the last) time Feb 2023. First the room and amenities: we ended up in the same room for both stays. It is a large room with a king bed, table and chairs, mini fridge and microwave. The bath has a walk in shower and heated floors which is good to have in winter. The TV is some kind of stick service, so navigating channels and finding live tv was near impossible. There is Wi-Fi, but no phone in the room. Multiple of the recessed lighting fixtures were missing with just empty light sockets hanging from the wires. So lighting was an issue. In the bath only 1 of the 3 light bulbs worked. The main house is no longer open for guests, so way to make hot tea or coffee in the rooms which is bummer and not what one expects when paying $150 a night at an inn. We were given 3 towels total. No hand towels or face cloths. I texted the contact about getting face cloths. Finally got them 2 days later after multiple reminders and requests. There is NO CARETAKER or employee on property most of the time. If you have an issue, you call or text email number. Someone will be there eventually. The drive in winter is treacherous, and we had to park, there is no real walkway to the door. We slipped more than once on the ice under the snow. Also, there is no housekeeping. Our trash can was overflowing by the time we left. After the face cloth debacle, I wasn’t prepared to find out how long it would take to get a new garbage bag. 😔 The first time we stayed it was weird how quiet it was. But at least there was a lady who cooked breakfast and took care of things during the day. This time, it was creepy. There were 2 other cars. Saw a lady when we arrived. She was there to tell us that she changed which room we would be in. I had booked a king bed room with a fireplace in the main house. I was really looking forward to using g the fireplace. But oh well… There is no longer breakfast or access to the “reception” room in the main house. The property needs a clean up. The area around our cottage was filled with an odd assortment of junk half buried under snow. A dog stroller thrown haphazardly on a golf cart; a random tire, bikes, rakes sticking up out of the snow. It just looks messy. The inn is for sale and it seems like the owners have given up. I was disappointed in our stay. For the money, it just wasn’t worth it. We will stay in Jackson next time. We paid too much for so little amenities. The Bartlett Inn may have been a lovely place (and could be?) but in my experience it’s past is prime. It’s hoteliers have little interest in customer service. It’s more like an AirBnB or verbo experience. You are on your own for your stay. Not what I expect when booking with an inn.

This business has lost its way. The new owners have neglected it and are trying to sell. It’s a dump. Mouse droppings in the kitchen drawer and cabinet. Dirty pan in the oven. Dirty fridge with someone else’s leftover food in it. No breakfast. No pool. No connector trail to the XC skiing (which used to be there). The business doesn’t answer the phone or return calls. We left a day early because we couldn’t bear it, and there is no possibility of a refund, which they make clear on their website. Obviously, we are not the first to want to leave early, which is why they post that notice. We would recommend that you find somewhere else.

Our room is filthy. It hasn't been vacuumed in quite some time. There is no toilet paper in the room. There is a very strong and nauseating smell that is overpowering. When we called Crystal, there was no answer to the phone and the keys are left at your room to just walk in the building, which is a safety concern. I've stayed in not so great places and never left a negative review. It's pretty bad.

The claims of amenities are a bold faced lie. You will be lucky if they have the room you booked. It took us more than an hour to get our room. We had to call someone to get in (during the middle of business hours) and could only do so when we got help from a random relation who apparently lives on premis. The pool has been closed for years apparently. We didn't get fleas?

Ok, so this was odd. So odd, I actually made this account just to write about it. First of all, they still have their 4th of July decorations up. Not a good sign. Secondly, the room was a dump. There was a clump of really old blood and hair or a really fresh poop on the floor. I didn't bother to figure out which. But...the oddest part was the "psychic" dressed in a leather jacket straight out of an 80s mall who kept asking me, over and over and over again, for a ride to the bar a couple miles down the street. I would pass on this one.

There was no soap in the bathroom and only about 1/4 inch of toilet paper on the roll. We tried for over an hour to get in touch with someone to get toilet paper. We left voicemails and sent a text to the numbers displayed. Finally we got in touch with a man who said they would send house keeping. After 2.5 hours we finally left and got our own. After 8 1/2 hours we got a text message that they left a roll at our door. We had soap in our travel bag that we used. This place definitely needs to be updated and the service is horrible We would not stay here again.

Oh I will give you a review of the Bartlett Inn…. This place was a disgrace . Very very very dirty. The place smells like smoke. Nobody was there. Finally, they gave us dirty towels. The room by the hall way was dirty towels in it. It had a for sale sign on the property. Every time I called nobody answered the phone send text message. Nobody answered. Finally somebody came. It was awful. I will never stay this place ever again it ****** ass. another couple came and they were next-door to us and they were completely appalled by it. They were so mad they were willing to call the health department and I don’t blame them because this was absolutely ridiculous and I hope they write a bad review about this place as well. Play smells like ********* cigarette smoke. And no one give a damn. Felt very unsafe what are there was a fire. The people should be ashamed of his place. Whoever owned it it ******. I will never ever ever ever stay here again and they need to get new owners or close the place down. One friends call the owner and when I guess when he answers like he was at a freaking bar it was almost like he didn’t even care about the place it ******. …………. Never never never never again!!!!!!
