Had dinner bed and breakfast. Bedroom tiny but modern clean and well furnished, reasonable value for money. We have eaten here at least 4 or 5 times before and have been big fans. The food was again very good, but there is now no a la carte menu, with very limited fixed price menu, and I would not have chosen the starter and main I ending up eating. In the past, for the quality of food, this place was an absolute bargain, but those days are gone. We paid over £200 including a couple of glasses of wine, which admittedly is not outrageously expensive for food of this quality, but the dining room with a plain conservatory overlooking an untidy garden and bare topped tables, are not the setting that this price bracket requires. Also, in the past, Mark would be front of house and would go the extra mile to welcome diners, suggesting wines, offering tastes etc. That was missing on this trip.
