Hampton by Hilton Hotels in Bath

Had high expectations of my stay and it was completely fulfilled and I was impressed. Overall welcome and ambience was just right being professional and sincere. Our bed room, junior suite after upgrading with extra fee, was reasonably sized although the bathroom with the layout of the door made it difficult and slightly dangerous to enter / close behind guest. The spa village was busy but understandable; it felt clean and very updated overall so there was less of a concern on hygiene which is understood can be difficult to maintain standards. The breakfast room, choices and service was fine as expected so it’s worth signing up for. Although by day 2, it was hard fo imagine having another breakfast so possibly having breakfast for one day as an option would be good. Would have liked to have body lotion in bathroom as I had to rely on the one available in the spa village… and with 2 nights stay, toiletries were not replenished … Always a nice welcome when soft drinks / mini bar is complimentary ; although it doesn’t cost a lot to fill a fridge but small gestures like these make guests feel more welcomed Thanks for a great stay; would like to take my 80 year old mum here sometime in future as she would enjoy it tremendously !!

The hotel was in a good location, close to the city centre. The hotel is cosy and the rooms are big. And has a free swimming pool and sauna. Good value for money and perfect for a holiday.

Arrived for our yearly 2 night stay on friday 4th October. We were greeted at reception by a lady called ”Lillie”. We were checked in with ease, Lillie was friendly, smiley and personable and you could tell that she was the right person to have on a reception desk and would do anything she could to give you the best experience. On entering our room we had a double bed and a pull out style of bed, due to back problems the pull out wouldn't of been suitable for us so my sister went back to reception to ask if we could change to a twin bedded room, which Lillie promptly changed us to. The next evening we went to reception to ask for a new bin liner to empty our bin, which we would of happily done ourselves but Lillie came up to our room and emptied our bin and brought a couple of chocolates for us with her. These may be small things not worth a mention to most people but having experienced bad hospitality as well as good over the years I think its so important to say when youv'e have good service.

At first check-in, staff said my booking’s payment was failed, I showed my booking confirmation with clearly stated payment successful, then he printed a confirmation for me to sign but I found that’s another one’s booking… totally another name… The 2nd print out was just showing my name without another personal information and I was told it’s okay to sign… Once I entered my room, there’s no bath tub, I called the concierge and claimed that when I booked this room type, photo clearly showed there’s bath tub and that’s why I chose this more expensive room type, staff just told me only Superior King room type offered bath tub… When I tried to take a shower, there’s no shower gel & face tissue in the toilet… what a big surprise that a so called 4 stars hotel could provide such service standard… I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone going to BATH for a visit… And what’s more, this is my Birthday trip with more than 3 hrs drive from the North, they really gave me a BIG surprise!!

Just returned from a 2 night stay and the hotel was spot on ! I had to ring the evening before as I had booked the wrong date, Sam was super helpful and continued to be so when we checked in the following day and he was on reception, greeted me as a gold member . He had a room ready and offered an early check in, and even accommodated ensuring I had a quiet room. Breakfast was better than expected considering it was included, and there were plenty of extra tea bags and coffee sachets by the lifts if you needed more for your room. Staff were friendly and room was basic but comfortable - as advertised ! Big thanks to Sam, as this trip could have started very differently ….. Will definitely work myself back to platinum with IHG now. :-)

We stayed in a triple room and were delighted with the comfort and cleanliness. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing - 2 of us had the full English and 1 had avocado, smoked salmon and poached egg on toast. There was also a selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt, juices, pastries, coffee and tea. All delicious. The location is superb, being very central.

Have returned from a 1 night stay at Hotel Indigo, booked for us by a family member so had done little research on the hotel, we arrived to a really friendly reception and were shown to our room 531. We were so impressed with the room and facilities, the entire place was completely spotless, comfortable beds, ample space and storage options, excellent lighting. The shower was divine! Reception phoned us to check everything was ok shortly after check in which was a nice touch and booked us in for breakfast at the hotels restaurant (The Elder) for the next morning at a time that suited us. Food and drinks at the elder were fantastic although a little pricey but that’s to be expected in Bath, however we didn’t mind the price given the excellent service received. Very close to city centre and all tourist attractions and good options of restaurants and bars all within a short walking distance. I really feel like I need to stress just how clean this entire hotel was, literally spotless in the room and all communal areas, one of the best we have ever stayed in. Nothing was too much to ask, all staff we encountered were more than friendly and made us feel welcome. We would definitely return to this hotel if in Bath again. Fantastic service all round. This review could have been a two-star one, but happily it wasn't, and is the only reason I haven't given five stars. My parents booked myself and my partner in for a two night stay for my 40th birthday - dinner, bed and breakfast for both nights. However, the booking on the hotel's end only showed bed and breakfast. (This part is the two stars) So, on conversing with my parents, and now armed with the reservation email, I popped to Reception and spoke to (who I am guessing is) the Front of House Manager, who had already been so enthusiastically welcoming - and on learning it was for my birthday gave me a voucher for free fizz! Anyway, once I showed the email it was sorted. Didn't have to say another word, and she was still there at dinner time, so confirmed it with the Bar Manager. The restaurant is small with a small menu, so is not the type of place I would have chosen had it not been for the deal. However, the food was delicious on both nights (first night spatchcock chicken, second night steak) and because it was so quiet, the food was quick and it felt like private dining - we were really looked after. The Bar Manager told us he could make any cocktail on the menu, as long as they had the ingredients, so I put this to the test and ordered my favourite - the Jelly Baby. I was not disappointed. The best bit was on the second night, the waitress, on learning it was my birthday put a candle in my dessert - the strawberry sundae (which as it was adorned with grapes and macarons I feel should be called the strawberry surprise. Especially when a candle is included!) She also listened intently to my partner talking about fish for about 10 minutes - talk about above and beyond! Our room was a basement room (004) and looked out into a lovely quiet courtyard, was at the end of the corridor so didn't have any rooms next to us on one side, and the bathroom provided a buffer between the room on the other side. Above was the (decadent and luxurious) ladies' toilets, a couple of times I heard footsteps, but that was it. The bed incredibly comfortable, and the shower was amazing (rainforest style, high pressure - and because it's Bath, amazing water quality. My hair was so soft! (And the lighting in the bathroom and on the dressing table highlighted the shine.) Breakfast was also good (although as my partner said, a bit too American - mainly referring to how crispy the bacon was - a minor point, but something to think about if, like me, you prefer your bacon ”under-cooked”!) I had eggs royale for my first breakfast and the charcuterie platter with fruit salad for my second. They were also happy to make more toast when I realised I was still hungry! On the second morning, I found out it was only our waiter's second shift - I wouldn't have realised until I heard him say! Overall, it was definitely the staff that made my stay special - and one I will remember. From Check-In to Check-Out, every interaction was brilliant, and in their own way, every one

We booked directly, in January, with the hotel taking up an offer for our March stay. This is a 5 star hotel and we upgraded our room a few days before arrival. The room was lovely with a comfortable 4 poster bed and all facilities as expected. Breakfast was not as we had expected for a 5 star hotel. We had to choose a time to eat, did the earlier people have all the yoghurt? By the time (8.45) we arrived we were scraping the bottom of the deep jar and our cooked breakfast was a meagre portion. The potato cake was very thin, like cardboard, a single thin rasher of bacon and a slice of mushroom. Thank goodness I asked for a grilled tomato! We had to ask for toast that 1st morning. The coffee pot was barely enough for one, we had to ask for more! We had booked to eat in the Vellore Restaurant for my birthday but decided to cancel this, as seemed expensive and breakfast had put us off! So we chose to eat from the bar menu instead, taking the meal in the lounge. Unfortunately the room was pretty cold, we heard other guests complaining about this. Guests can ask for fresh milk to go with the complimentary tea and coffee, but be aware a tiny jug of milk is £6. However the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and the hotel is well situated for the town.
