Just returned from a lovely weekend in Bath. We were fortunate enough to secure a room in the superbly placed Park Parade hotel and it didn’t let us down. We knew we’d hit the jackpot when we witnessed the satisfaction of the outgoing guests during our pleasant check-in. From there we were shown to a lovely, spacious room which was pretty much it’s very own duplex-style suite. It was roomy, had 2-bedrooms, a mini-lounge / seating area with sofa and writing desk, plus a bathroom boasting a modern, top-of-the-range suite and power shower. The decor was on point, the beds comfortable with a choice of pillows and a plentiful supply of fresh towels. My only moan, and it is a minor one, is there’s a kettle but no cups, tea or coffee. Suspect it was a simple oversight and I’m sure had we asked the wonderfully polite and helpful staff would have rectified the situation immediately. All in all we had a great time in Bath and this hotel certainly played it’s part. Will be returning at the earliest possible opportunity.

I would like to say we stayed, but we could not wait to leave. 11:30pm we walked out. The sound of rats in the roof was the final straw, The whole place is a dive. Dirty, run down and dated! What a let down for such a lovely city! Never again.

This "hotel" should be listed as a hostel for the homeless. It is neglected and in need of a major repair and refurb. You walk past a nightclub queue to get in, past the rubbish bins into a grim reception area. The hallways and stair ways stink of cigarette smoke, people clearly smoke in their rooms (no smoke detector in my room). The room was filthy, the carpets, curtains and stool all had stains. The tea/coffee tray was dirty and hod milk stains on it. The bathroom floor and toilet were dirty and stained and unusable. Only the hot tap worked, no running cold water. The ceiling had a stains from the leak which dripped all night onto dresser, wall and carpet. The wallpaper was coming off the wall from the leak. Had to stay as no other hotels available that night. Slept fully clothed on top of top cover, got about 4 hours sleep dur to leak and drunk guests trying to get into my room thinking it was their. Checked out the next morning and found another hotel !

I give it 2 reluctantly. Price was good Room I had was good. Shower needed replacement. But it did the job Generally it is a place which needs modernisation. However the price will rise I had paid for breakfast. Unfortunately the chefs did not turn up for work. I was given a refund without any issues. It appears that someone knew this would happen I would stay again at the right price

Wanted to visit Bath as a getaway for the day / night. City was everything we expected but that’s the end of that The accommodations left me and my partner speechless! When we arrived the staff were very friendly. We went to our room to find a worn down room which wasn’t cleaned properly and it had furniture which was broken. We mentioned this to the reception, who said they would sort it for us. Once we returned we had noticed they removed the broken chair and replaced with 2 dirty chairs and didn’t even clear up the mess fully which we had pointed out to them It should be noted that there is a nightclub next door which you can hear until 4am A very disappointing visit , would have stayed else where if they hadn’t made us pay on arrival and refund was a option but wasn’t !

please read all other customer’s comments written for July 2022 - sadly we booked in June so we didn’t see them. the property is not just tired it is filthy and not fit for purpose and in COVID times a health risk. we had asked online for a low floor as the confirmation we received said there were 66 stairs to climb and we needed to let them know in advance. having done this we were told when we arrived that we had to take a room on the third floor but they would carry up our suitcase - that didn’t make up for the fact we are in our seventies and had to climb them every time we came back to the hotel (more like a cheap hostel) on our three day stay. climbing the stair the carpet was filthy and the walls bodged filled with poly filla. our room was small with part sloping ceiling. Apart from the bed being made it would appear the room was not cleaned or prepared. there were no towels and no liquid soap in the container in the shower. the shower and tray was so filthy that we couldn’t bring ourselves to shower at all during our stay. In the sink we two small round pieces of soap that had been used by the previous occupants. there was a warning but the hot water became scalding in a matter of seconds. the bathroom floor was filthy and the drainage holes in the middle filled with hairs. the cover of the headboard on the bed was crumbling so badly that there were brown fragments on the sheets. we kept our belongings in our case because we couldn’t bear to put them in the small cupboard. the window was jammed open and covered in mould. it was so hot so better than being jammed shut but there was a nightclub underneath (no warning of that) and it was noisy until three a.m. every night. when we were checking out another couple were complaining about their stay. we just handed over our keys and got out as soon as we could. please avoid this place at all costs - although it was one of tge cheaper places to stay in bath I wouldn’t wish our experience on anybody!

First off believe the crap reviews. I arrived for a weekend in bath with my wife. Arrived at hotel to 2 different gentlemen argueing with staff about over bookings and no spare rooms. After being asked to wait in the bar while that was being sorted I was then called back in by the reception manager. Same two men were still there and a third now had joined them from a completely different party with the same issue. I was given my key and went to my room. The stair case was being painted. There was a sign in reception saying please be patient while they refurb. No disrespect I’m sure stevie wonder was painting the hotel as more paint was on carpet than walls. Anyway got to my room after walking through a manky looking fire door to arrive at my room. The door had been damaged at some point and filled and painted by ray charles this time as it was nearly as bad as stevies effort. Got inside and was met with a room that looked like it needed closing down. Filthy threadbare carpets , sheets not fitting and covered in black bits headboard looked like it had been dragged around bath for 3 days or had seen as much action as one from a 1970’s porn film. Bathroom was dirty with loose tiles and dirty shower tray also someone had left half their breakfast down the back of the pan in a part digested state. So whilst I was discussing our options with my wife as we also had friends arriving to stay in same hotel reception were kind enough to ask could they be paid as I had not paid before I left reception. So I went down to them. Same two men getting nowhere over their booking. Told the reception manager that room was vile and was not happy. Told me to come back again in 30 mins. Went back and was offered another room. Went with reception manager to see it and it was occupied !!! He went and got another key. Gorgeon suite. Ace I thought that sounds better. Nope not at all. I have uploaded pics from that room. By this time I had no choice as our friends were nearly there and I couldn’t find nowhere else. Nightclub downstairs in all fairness I didn’t hear but I did hear every man and his dog shouting up and down the stairs, was like a youth hostel. I also had a knock on the door at 12:30am from a gentleman who wanted to come in and do maintenance on my room, like *** ?? Luckily I was dressed as I had to sleep in my clothes because I thought more layers the better as it was that dirty. Anyway the sight of me answering the door on the Saturday morning must have been pleasant for the maintenance guy as he did the bloody same on the Saturday/Sunday early hours. The whole experience was utter shambles and the place should not be open. The pictures shown for advertising are old and out of date. And chucking paint on the carpet and walls does not class as refurbishment. It needs bloody gutting !!!! That place could be so much more !! Reception manager was his first day. He was lovely and looked like he couldn’t believe what was happening and the poor

This was an awful place, the room was shabby and we were told we had to pay before we got to our room which I thought was inappropriate. Their were flies in the room and the decoration was simply shocking. We were going to a Michael Buble concert so would never have found an alternative place to stay. The toilet was grim and the carpet had obviously been there for around 20 years. The worst thing about this whole stay was that when we got to the so called breakfast room there was no one there and there was no food available. We complained at the desk but the poor lad didn’t know what to do. The painter/decorator was also there and he agreed with everything we said, and even told us that the kitchen guy always leaves early. However, when we made a complaint to *********** and sent accompanying photos and videos to claim a full refund, they have done nothing. The hotel has now changed its name, and despite several reminders to *********** they have done nothing and that is totally unacceptable. Please do not stay in this so called hotel.
