The environment is okay, there is nothing around. Eating dinner can only be a set meal, and it is more expensive than staying for one night without ordering wine, and the ingredients are very ordinary, and the price/performance ratio is extremely low. Ctrip's selling price is nearly 2,000, and the local price of the hotel is 200 Euros. The Ctrip agent's price increase is too high. very disappointed

We stayed at the chateau for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our romantic getaway. It is just a few minutes drive from the quaint historic town of Bayeux. The staff was absolutely wonderful! We were traveling around France and the British Isles for three weeks, so we had several heavy suitcases. They held our luggage when we arrived early and then personally carried all of our luggage to our room that was located in a separate building across the property so it was there waiting for us when we returned from site seeing. The staff at the front desk made us feel welcome, gave us a tour of where we were staying, helped us get transportation to and from the chateau, made dinner reservations for us, and provided wonderful food and bar service. Yes, the chateau was dated, but that added to its history and charm. We thoroughly enjoyed a long, relaxing and exquisite dinner at the on site restaurant and the breakfast buffet was even better than described, with a large variety of food and drink options. We did not have time to enjoy the pool and spa because we spent our days out exploring the Normandy region, but we do hope we can return someday and spend more time at the chateau relaxing and enjoying its amenities. Thank you for making our anniversary trip even more special!

Onvergetelijk.

This could rate as one of the greatest hotel disappointments ever…. I normally don’t write hotel reviews, but given how bad this was I feel obliged to warn others to avoid this place. (I entirely agree with the brilliantly made points by NYC7002 in the similarly rated review below, which I only wish I’d seen before we went!) My husband booked us to stay here for 4 nights to visit D Day sites as family during half term. It wasn’t his first choice but given our dates were so close to the D-Day 80th anniversary events most places were booked up. We should have realised why this one wasn’t…. We had a “suite” and our two boys (10 & 12) had a double room. How a large room with a small walk in “cupboard” area to the side (a rail on wheels & a badly placed dressing table) classifies as a suite is ….a mystery. The mattress didn’t fit the bed. The decoration was appalling. The bathroom was an embarrassment (disastrous grout, gaps to the floor, stains in the loo, serious lack of cleanliness, see photos) There wasn’t even a full length mirror. The lighting in the boys room was a joke. Even the receptionist who showed us the room seemed surprised by how dark it was with “all” the lights turned on. There was also a mystery “spray” up one of the walls – they thought it was hilarious to guess what the stains were, but I was horrified. The Nuxe Miel liquid soap dispenser in the bath/shower didn’t work which I pointed out on day 2; it was never fixed. The receptionist seemed to sneer when I asked if it could be. It is situated right to the side of a main road, so if you dare to sleep with your windows open you are in for a noisy night. If that doesn’t keep you awake then if you are as unfortunate as we were to have a weak-bladdered-Heffalump sleeping in the floor above you, you will hear every step as they pound their way to the bathroom throughout the night. There is no form of sound proofing whatsoever. Details such as the pen and paper in the room looked more like they had been left by a previous guest, rather than deliberately put there. And obviously any attentiveness such as checking the pen actually worked was considered too much. We decided to have a glass of wine and a cheese plate having returned from dinner one evening. The cheese plate presentation was on a par with the bed making; utterly substandard and clearly done by someone who just didn’t give a damn. A lovely lady occasionally appeared at breakfast, but was the only member of staff we encountered who smiled. Given the unimpressive level of breakfast (I suspect the croissants come out of packets and the congealed scrambled eggs would likely have been rejected by a starving animal) we decided to avoid eating dinner here at all costs – instead chose to go either into Bayeux or Port en Bessin down the road. The garden area is lovely and we decided to sit out in the deckchairs to take advantage of a brief spell of sunshine; only to find that every single one had bird poo on it

Beautiful site. Extraordinary food. I loved my compact but charming room - I had everything I could ask for. Elegant grounds to wander. Loved the dovecotes. Peaceful and quiet. So many birds singing in the evening. I wish I'd stayed longer to use the pool. (the chef is GREAT)

Property around the Chateau is nice, and the countryside setting is OK. The building itself is old, with horrible wallpaper in the rooms, no AC, and no elevator. Bags have to be carried up a lot of stairs, with no railings for the upper floor. The lack of AC means the rooms get very warm, unless you open the windows - but there are no screens and plenty of bugs come into the room (mosquitoes, various flies, moths, and spiders). The staff was very friendly and helpful, the massage was good at the spa, and the food at the restaurant was excellent. It was isolated from town, with no available transportation except our car and no food delivery available.

It was a beautiful hotel and grounds. It was a short drive into Bayeux and to the Normandy battle sites. Breakfast was nice.

Very disappointing. Hotel has been bought and they are going to start renovations in the fall. Hotel has probably not been updated for 40 years. Our sink was cracked, the felt welting on closet doors was falling off. A light in the hall blinked all night. The carpet behind the front desk was taped down due to wear. Staff was very kind. They are embarrassed by the state of the hotel. My kids had better dorm rooms!
