Hotel Eetu - Adults Only

This is our third trip to this beautiful hotel and part of Spain, and we will definitely be back. The hotel is so clean and the owner Bernard couldn’t do enough to make your stay wonderful. The breakfasts in the morning are fantastic, made more enjoyable sitting under the Mulberry trees. The pool is so tranquil surrounded by lovely trees and gardens. This year we had dinner three times in a week, the food is very good with a choice of three courses or tapas. All the staff deserve a mention and are so pleasant and helpful. Thank you so much Judit, May, Jose, Alina, Ana and all the housekeeping staff, the rooms are spotless!
Parador de Aiguablava

We spent a weekend at Aiguablava Parador in Begur. We were a party of four people. The good points were the location, the rooms (comfortable beds, fabulous sea view, spacious rooms, nice amenities) the hotel is very spacious and tastefully decorated. The swimming pool, at the top end of the cliff, although not massive, is large enough and with fantastic views of the area. A very privileged position with views of Aiguablava cove and a private path down to the cove. Breakfast was varied and good quality in general and served in the breakfast room with gorgeous views. Freshly squeezed fruit juice and good quality coffee. The negatives were the check in experience, too long and with an inexperienced receptionist who lacked aptitude in the treatment of experienced travelers/customers and couldn’t get my name right. There was a general lack of coordination between departments (reception and restaurant) our evening meal reservation was not communicated to the restaurant either of the two days and my name was wrong in all departments from beginning to end even though the receptionist had access to my ID card and the online booking form. The evening meals were sub standard. Generally unpleasant food, tasteless fish and a dirty lukewarm brown sauce, packet custard-based deserts. Brick sized chunks of melon as fruit salad. Some dishes were inedible. A very limited wine list and very expensive wines. The service in the restaurant varied from pleasant to inappropriate with some comments from waiting staff demonstrating their inexperience and unsuitability to work in a hotel of this category, even though they were pleasant and kind at all times. On a final note, I requested by telephone if it would be possible to have some candles on a desert on our final evening as we were celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday. The receptionist said it would be no problem but it was not communicated to the restaurant and forgotten. As there had been so many hiccups with communication in general I didn’t bother to even try to remind them.
La Indiana de Begur, Petit Hotel Boutique

Cute, cozy hotel in the heart of Begur. We stayed one night in October. The place is exactly as seen in the photos. Our room had a small balcony overlooking a back street. It was spotless, and beautifully decorated. A free bottle of water is provided. The bathroom was stocked with everything you will need, including dental kits. The staff are very friendly and courteous. They speak limited English, so there was a lot of Google translation involved. The hotel is on a small street in the heart of Begur, only accessible by walking. We parked our car in a public spot (free) and then walked about 5 minutes with our bags to get here. There are steps to get to the main floor; no ramp or elevator. No assistance was provided to get our luggage up or down. Breakfast is included. It is simple but delicious. Fresh orange juice, tea/coffee, limited selection of cheese and pastries, and of course jamon. I loved the fresh fruits. Overall, great experience and would highly recommend!
Mas Ses Vinyes - Adults Only

I’d like to start with the positives, although there aren’t many, and each comes with a caveat. The lady at the front desk is great. Her manner is impeccable, and she always speaks with courtesy and professionalism. She handles everything with ease and a positive attitude. It’s clear she takes great pride in her work, but she can only work with what is given to her. The hotel features a spa with a steam room, sauna, cold plunge, and jacuzzi. However, when we visited, the sauna was not working, so we were left with only three functional amenities. On the upside, the spa was quiet during our visit, which allowed us to enjoy some peaceful moments. The location of the hotel is another highlight. It’s set in a tranquil, picturesque mountain area, providing a beautiful and serene environment, perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. However, there were several disappointments during our stay. The hotel is advertised as an adult-only establishment, but this was far from reality. Over our three-day stay, we frequently saw children running around, using scooters, and dining at the restaurant. When we raised this issue with the staff, they informed us that children were only permitted in the restaurant. Despite this, we noticed a family staying in one of the rooms (between rooms 11 to 15, though we aren’t sure which exact room). From the pool area, we could clearly hear a little girl screaming, which directly contradicted the hotel’s adult-only policy as advertised on their website in CAPITAL LETTERS. Our experience was further soured by a shockingly unpleasant check-in. We arrived at 9 PM to find no lights guiding us to the reception and no staff to assist us. There was a man behind the desk at a computer, who took his time getting up and did not greet us or say good evening. Although he found our booking, he struggled to assign us a room, leaving us standing at reception for at least 20 minutes while he sorted it out. Parking was another issue. The hotel is supposed to reserve parking spots separately for hotel guests and restaurant customers, but this policy was neither respected nor enforced. This lack of organisation added to our frustration. It seems the hotel is desperate for money and willing to compromise every principle it was supposedly founded on. The room itself was very basic, offering only towels and shampoo. There wasn’t even a box of tissues provided. The room had a strange smell and felt extremely plain and unwelcoming. The daily room cleaning service consisted of new towels, and that's about where it ended. Finally, we had lunch in the hotel restaurant. Options for vegetarians were limited; however, the food was very good. Compliments to the chef, who is let down massively by appalling service. We could hear the waitstaff swearing and complaining to each other, as well as having conversations about former employees—completely unprofessional. The level of service you experience at the table is your

Nestled in the heart of the town of Begur, sits a real gem. I always look for smaller boutique hotels when I travel and this one took my breath away. The attention to detail was unmatched, while the simplicity of the hotel was perfection. The breakfast was authentic and delicious, the front desk staff (specifically Angelica & Camille) had recommendations for days and the charm of the town of Begur made our visit to the Costa Brava one we will never forget! The location is incredible. The rooms are beautiful, beds are dreamy, and the whole vibe of the hotel is super relaxed. Do not pass this hotel up!

My wife and I spent three nights here in a room with balcony and sea view. It was at the end of 8 days walking from village to village along the Catalan coast . We also walked from the hotel , lovely walks including one to Sa Tuna and Sa Riera. The hotel was first class, from the time we arrived tired after a tough day's walk - we were soon sitting on a beautiful terrace restaurant overlooking the sea and enjoying a late lunch. Staff at all times were friendly and professional. Great breakfasts sitting on the terrace and even greater evening meals also taken outside. Nothing to criticise in our three night stay. We've stayed in over 12 hotels this year and this was the best!
