Hotels in Tian'anmen Square and Wangfujing Area, Beijing

The hotel was very old and some facilities were not in a good condition, for example, the toilet and shower room. The location is really nice next to the subway station but there were no elevator and escalator, you will need to carry the bag upstairs. The room was big.

Wonderful service, great breakfast selection, very clean & well maintained. If you have a young child, they have a lovely indoor pool too. We had difficulty with WiFi connection and Al from Reception very kindly assisted us in communicating with the company we booked our day tour with. It is centrally located and the tour we arranged happened to finish near it. It’s also a short walk away to Forbidden city. Really pleased that we chose this Hotel. It was perfect for our short visit to Beijing.

Only good things I can say about it: fantastic location and the bed was very clean. Aside from that the whole hotel was incredibly dirty, walls falling off, everything smells of smoke... the bathroom inside the room was super dirty as well, with stains on the wall that you do not want to know what they are. There is some sort of sofa on the room with also an insane amount of indescribable stains. The bed was so hard you might as well sleep on the floor. The window on the room could not be properly closed, which made it quite cold. Truly only good thing is the location, which is in fact super central. I absolutely would not recommend and would not go back.

The hotel may be a little far from the metro but still within walking distance from the main tourist attractions (Tiananmen and whatnot) in Beijing. Good spread of items for the breakfast buffet. Perhaps try to avoid staying on level two where there’s a hotpot restaurant. Didn’t like the smell coming out from there. Robot sends amenities to the room upon request from some device in the room (there’s no phone but all’s good). Check in is at level 8 where you’ll get a birds eye view of the forbidden city. 24h snacks and fruits free of charge there too, nice to chill. They have a gym and automated luggage storage at b2.

Pros: Clean, spacious, and modern rooms, with good amenities. Great location just 2 minutes walk from Dengshikou exit C, and a 24hr convenience store nearby. It’s situated on a quiet road but still with human activity that it feels safe going back alone at night. I like that it’s on line 5 which has access to the AirPort Express and also direct line to Lama temple and Temple of Heaven, and numerous other line changes. Walkable to Wangfujing as well. Receptionist and concierge were great, luggage storage and check in/out were seamless. Cons: There was a clump of hair by the door when I checked in - it was probably blocked by the door and housekeeper missed it. The walls were also quite thin, I could hear my neighbours’ conversation (and snoring/farting) and doors slamming at night/in the morning. It didn’t affect me or my sleep too much but just FYI to those considering.

Hotel is in a great location, just off the Wangfujing Pedestrian Street. The entrance is very tricky and the lobby shares the building entrance with a courier company. The hotel floors are on the 5th and 6th floors of a mixed use building. The lifts are smelly and stuffy, as the building cleaners use the same lifts to haul out huge stinky bags of garbage. The hotel floors are decent enough. The beds are comfortable and towels plush. However, housekeeping should do a better job of removing grout around bathroom fixtures and the room had an odd smell on our first night. Our room had a faulty shower. Even after the plumber fixed it, we weren’t able to have hot enough water but we just made do with it. Service at the front desk varies. Some are good while others not so. The only male front desk receptionist we encountered made extra efforts to ensure our hot water was functioning again by dropping by twice to follow up and even drying our wet floor himself.

This hidden hotel really was an amazing find. It was clean and in an amazing location. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean with decent amenities. Water bottles were topped up everyday. Highly recommended. It made our stay in Beijing better feeling so welcomed.

It's not the cheapest in town, services is ok and the front of desk English isn't that great, so get your VPN and translator pre downloaded. The staff are friendly enough and will go out their way. Word of warning: Don't buy the advertised tour visit if you don't speak Mandarin (¥280 rmb each). This is just transportation (couch ride) to the Great Wall and other attractions. Entrance fees are extra, and the itinerary could change as it's free-flowing. This place shines on it locality. It's tucked away on a side street and probably about 15/25 mins short walk away from the Forbidden Palace and bang in the centre of the city. It's an 8th floor building, but the elevator only reaches the 7th, so take care in booking if you've got lots of luggage. The AC in our room had a mind of its own, either super cold or muggy warm. Those who enjoy hot showers, like myself, will be disappointed, and if you like to see your partner enjoy a luke warm shower or using the toilet, you're in for a treat....... Roll curtains provided. The metro/ MTR/ underground is opposite McDonald's. Almost all of the MTR are automated ticketing machines and security is super tight, as we spent the time in Beijing whilst their parliament had dignitaries in and you couldn't get to anywhere without pre booking into sites. For those with adventurous taste buds, you'd stay away from their in-house, all you can eat buffet breakfast. There's limited western style breakfast, but if it's included in your package, who cares.

The hotel is near the end of Wangfujing Street, walk every day, very convenient, there are 7-Eleven, local restaurants, famous halal Peking duck restaurants near the hotel, easy to travel, easy to call didi, clean room, soft bed, comfortable sleep, 4 pillows, Japanese hotel style, most importantly, cheap price.
