After mixing up my arrival date, the reception staff were really friendly and flexible and helped me change my dates around. I found the staff there friendly and helpful throughout my visit. The bar area was super nice and I invited local friends for a drink and they were equally impressed. I was given an king bed 'accessible' room for some reason. I found the king bed - which was 2 singles put together, pretty uncomfortable and the pillows smelt strange. Smell was part of the hotel, the bar entrance smelt off, as did the corridors and especially my room. I couldn't put a finger on whether it was a product smell or raw sewerage. All my clothes ended up smelling like my room and it was a bit gross. A lot of people complained about the noise at the weekend, a club is close-by and the hotel is above a bar so it is to be expected. The hotel put earbuds by the bed which was good. Water were regularly replaced too which was also good. Small things could be fixed like the TV remote and the safe, which I wanted to use. Overall it was an easy place to stay, hassle-free and in good proximity of the university and city centre.
