The 1852 Hotel - Self Check-IN

The 1852 Hotel - Self Check-IN

📍 13 Lower Cres, Belfast
★★★ 8.4 (116 reviews)

"Worst thing: NOBODY can figure out how their self check in works. The booking number and Pin they sent to me was completely useless!!! I spent almost 30mins and called the stuff, he gave a different Pin but still doesn’t work, when I called again, I think he refused, words fail me… At last a kind lady came and find something in her iPad and solve the problem, but anyway it made me feel terrible!!! Other thing: The hotel is right above a noisy bar, where played the loud music all night till midnights, I came back to hotel to have a rest but no one could find peace under that noisy music, even the wall was shaking sometimes, terrible night!!! Price is ok, cleanness not that good but still could accept, but other things listed above, I will never come back again!"

"We had a fantastic stay and would happily return. The hotel was clean, modern, and well maintained throughout, and our room was comfortable with everything we needed. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made a real difference to our experience. The location was excellent, making it easy to explore Belfast and access local attractions, restaurants, and shops. Breakfast offered a good selection of fresh food, and the overall atmosphere throughout the hotel was relaxed and enjoyable. Overall, it was a great experience from check-in to check-out, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Belfast."

📍 70-74 Donegall Street, Belfast
★★★★ 9.2 (55 reviews)

"Not bad. Breakfast is provided, and there's a supermarket nearby which is very convenient for buying quick meals. It's also very close to all the main attractions. The only downside is the lack of power outlets by the bed and in the bathroom, which is a bit of a pity."

Second Nature Belfast ★★★★
"The hotel's city-center location is fantastic, just a short walk to City Hall and various shopping malls. It's also only a 10-minute walk from Grand Station, and there are bus stops downstairs for easy access to different areas. It's an excellent base for first-time visitors to Belfast. The hotel itself is elegantly decorated. While the room might not be overly spacious, it's incredibly well-equipped. This triple room even came with a small kitchen and a microwave! Given the limited dining options in Northern Ireland, being able to heat up food in the room is a great dinner choice."

The 1852 Hotel - Self Check-IN ★★★
"This was our second time staying in this hotel. Last time we booked a normal king room and we were very satisfied. The room was spacious, bright etc. This time, we decided to book a reduced rate king room above the bar. We were aware it would be loud as it was clearly stated it was right above the bar downstairs, so that wasn’t unexpected. However, the room itself was absolute HORROR. First of all, the room was way smaller than the rooms upstairs, but that was the least of our worries. The booking promised a city view, and we weren’t expecting anything amazing as we knew it was on the first floor, HOWEVER, there was a massive awning outside over the window blocking the ENTIRE window. There was no view and absolutely no light being let into the room. It was midday on a sunny day but by how dark the room was you’d think it’s night time with the curtains closed. These were also lowered at 10am so getting ready in the morning was very frustrating as the room was so dark. Nothing about these window covers was stated in the booking. The bathroom was diabolical too. The toilet had no lid and mold or dirt at the bottom. Disgusting. The bathroom door was the worst part of it. It was a sliding door which was so heavy and so difficult to open and close. And the handle wasnt even a handle, it was just an indent in the door. I ripped half of my nail off my finger opening this door. Another thing, the self check in didn’t work. We tried to check in at 3.30pm and after filling in everything on the machine for about 10 minutes, it told us our room isn’t ready so we had to get help from the staff. Our room was also tidied without us knowing or wanting it. We did not request it to be tidied or hang up the sign on our door. I did not want my stuff moved or anything to be touched. Overall very frustrating experience. Staying in the reduced rate room instead of a full price room was not worth the money we saved. Complete lack of information about the flaws of the room."

"Stayed overnight for an early morning training course held in the hotel It's a good 20 minute walk from the Grand Central Station but on a nice day a chance to see Belfast's street life. Room tidy and comfortable especially the bed. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Amenities really good and breakfast was smashing. I would certainly stay there again."

"On the last day of a road trip in Northern Ireland, a friend and I stayed with Elizabeth at the Bay Cottage Bed and Breakfast and had a delightful time. The room was very comfortable, and the house and location was beautiful. Elizabeth treated us to an incredible breakfast in the morning -- everything was delicious and served with such care. Couldn't recommend enough!!"

Titanic Hotel Belfast ★★★★
"The hotel was transformed from a former shipyard, and its layout is very artistic. It is new and comfortable. The rooms are simpler, a fusion of classic and modern. This hotel is like the Titanic, and the iceberg in front is a memorial hall."
