The Agir Springs Hotel by Medplaya

My best friend & I just spent a week there in May. We opted for half board . The breakfast was ok very basic & the evening meal was in all honesty grim. I'm quite a basic eater but there was nothing on the menu that catered for it. We only had dinner the 1st night which i pushed about the plate. Needless to say we had to eat out the rest of the week. The hotel needs quite a lot of cosmetic work doing, painting our door areas, trimming back dead plants etc. The sunbeds on the roof terrace need a good clean & maybe replacing. It's certainly not as glamorous as the picture shows. It has 2 lifts & only 1 worked the whole week we where there. They also decided to door some work around the pool area which they said would take 2 hrs. It took a full day & part of the next. Of course it just happened to be the hottest day the pool was closed 🙃. On the plus side the hotel was clean, staff lovely, very central to the bars & the beach. Everything was well within walking distance. Even tho a bit scruffy the roof terrace/pool area was a great place to relax away from everything to enjoy a cocktail or 2. Would I return ............ no purely based on the lack of basic items on the menu. Not everyone wants Spanish food. They seem to get alot of British clientele so a couple of things on the menu to cater for them wouldn't go a miss.

Really happy with the stay. Friendly staff. Good food. Great location. Good rooftop pool and bar.

Just back from a week away great looking hotel .room we had a suite great size air-conditioning wasn't working and when it did bad smell when it was on We were half board my wife is non dairy wasn't alot for her to eat morning or at nite.. To make matters worse wife slipped on floor at pool side to toilets that were wet cut all of her foot when reported nothing happened hotel didn't want to know so had to make rest of holiday as good as we could

The hotel is in a great location right in the middle of everything & close to the beach. The hotel looks lovely & gives the impression it’s been recently refurbished, however on closer inspection it looks like it’s just been painted in bright colours & some mirrors etc as there is a lot of things which need attention. The bathrooms are very small, the showers need replacing as ran hot/cold the whole week, also the main part of the bathroom is well lit but once you enter the shower it is very dark. Bath was also really slippy, maybe there should be bath mats to use if required. Our air conditioning didn’t work for our entire stay, however when we went to reception about it they did have someone come look at it, but turned out it wasn’t going to be a quick fix, they then offered to give us another room which we declined. I then asked if we could even have a fan, which they did supply(looked brand new, so think they went out & bought it that day). The fan made a huge difference so we were happy with that. The pool & pool area is lovely but again it’s in need of a bit of tlc, the grout round the pool was dirty & stained. The cushions for the loungers were all pretty stained too. The noice from moving furniture at all hours of the night was unbelievable, I didn’t get a full nights sleep for the week. We were B&B, the breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, yogurt & bread. You could also order poached eggs, omelettes or pancakes. Not the worst hotel I’ve stayed in but to me it’s not a 4 star.

Great hotel, breakfast a little blah, rooms clean, some minor maintenance needed, staff where good. location was the best of all right in the middle of old town and new town and one block from the beach.

The location was perfect for everything. The reception and pool area are lovely. The bathrooms are in major need of referb. ,The bath was rusty ,hole in the wall and the shower was very old and temperamental. The beds and pillows very comfortable. The worst part of this hotel for me and why I wouldn't return was the noise .noise from furniture scrapping constantly and you could hear everything from neighbouring rooms .i really didnt sleep well all week. the house keeper turned up at 9.05 am to clean room unless you put do not disturb sign up .you could also hear dreadful outside noise like bins being emptied and street cleaners all through night but not the hotels fault

This hotel is one of my favourite hotels I've ever stayed in, the rooms were so nice and we had a sea view room which was stunning. All staff were nice especially the bar man who works mainly at the rooftop pool. We didn't eat from the hotel so can't rate that but the drinks are really nice, the cocktails are 9€ which is Spenny for Benidorm but the pints are like 3€. The rooftop pool area hd a great vibe music on too which we loved. Room service offered everyday can't fault them for that. The balcony was large too. We will 100% return here and recommend it massively!
