In the heart of the town! Very close to dining, onsen, transportation, Jigoku/Hells, convenience stores. Our host was very friendly and made us feel right at home! There is a picture of a community dining table online but this is not available to guests. You also have to reserve the bath. Our host provided maps and brochures on nearby tourist attractions which was very helpful and provided us with yukatas, geta, jackets, towels, etc. i would definitely stay here again if i returned to Beppu!

When we checked in, they gave us recommendations for places to eat and even a plan for touring hell the next day. As you'd expect from a hostel rooted in the local area, they were full of information. The next day it was raining, so they took us to and from the hotel many times. We really appreciate it.

The inn was very homey and comfortable.
It was a Japanese-style room, and we were free to use the kitchen and washing machine, so we had a really relaxed stay.

Value is exceptional. Mijo has been very helpful with reservations and suggestions on onsen nearby. Rooms are large and comfortable for ryokan standards. Restroom are plentiful but can be a challenge if you are over 6ft tall as they are very small. No dedicated shower facility however one is available. We found that using the insensitive with showers that a shower is not needed. The the action can not be better, right in the heart of Kannawa onsen area. Everything you need is a short walk, grocery, restaurants and onsen.

Hotel hostess is very friendly and the location is very convenient to visit hot spring baths. As the facilities are all shared, there was a wait for the washbasin in the morning. My room has the old house smell that's hard to escape. It also has a nice side room with a frige and a small table.

The owner was great, very energetic, and gave us recommendations on bath houses and restaurants without us even having to ask. The room was larger than expected, and we were provided with 3 futon each stacked to give us a much nicer sleeping experience.
Note: There isn't a bath/shower available in the guest house itself, but being in Beppu you can easily walk to a nearby bathhouse.
