"The room was great, and the hotel facilities were decent. The Japanese dinner and breakfast are worth trying for the experience, though the taste was just average and the portions were small. It's about a 15-minute walk from Beppu Station to the hotel. Coming from Oita Airport, it was quite a distance. Most Japanese hotels have an 11 AM check-out, which is fine, but this hotel's check-out is even earlier at 10 AM. You basically have to pack up and leave right after breakfast, which wasn't very convenient. Surprisingly, the kids' meal tasted better. Don Quijote is super close, about a 7-8 minute walk."

"The hotel's location is extremely convenient—just a 5-minute walk from Beppu Station, and very close to the seaside. Situated right on the busiest commercial street leading out from the station, finding great food and drinks is effortless! Traveling solo, I booked a room in the annex. The great thing about this hotel, though, is that guests can share the large communal bath, open-air pool, and soaking tubs on the rooftop of the main building. At around 400 RMB per night, the value for money is unbeatable. The room itself is quite cramped, typical of a standard Japanese hotel, with nothing particularly standout about it. All in all, if you stay here, you *must* check out the main building's large communal bath—it's totally worth the price of admission! Next time I visit with friends, I'll definitely stay in the main building for a much more spacious and comfortable room!"

"For my winter break trip to Japan, I continued exploring Kyushu, specifically Beppu and Yufuin. In Beppu, I stayed at this established onsen hotel. It wasn't expensive, and when I booked, it was the last room available. I kept checking countless times to see if a larger room would open up, but none did. My husband, due to his state-owned company job, couldn't travel, so it was just me and my son, which ended up being perfectly fine. The hotel initially even set up three futons for us in the tatami room. The onsen was very relaxing. There were a lot of Korean guests at the hotel; I noticed them all at breakfast. Our room had a sea view, which I really liked. For housekeeping, they only offer free cleaning on the third day if you stay for three consecutive nights. Otherwise, it costs 3000 yen per cleaning. We figured it wasn't worth it since we didn't have much trash anyway, and I didn't bother making the bed. The hot springs also offered sea views, though we only used them at night. Soaking in them before bed was incredibly comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast was a buffet with a good variety of local Kyushu dishes. I ate there for two days straight and didn't get tired of it. In terms of transportation, it's about a 100-meter walk from the Beppu bus terminal if you're coming from Fukuoka. The JR station is also only about a 10-minute walk away, which is very convenient. Overall, I think it offers pretty good value for money."

"I booked this hotel specifically for the private onsen in the room. When I first turned on the water, there was a strange smell, and I noticed some floating particles, which was quite off-putting. However, I later realized it was the natural sulfur smell of the hot spring, and the particles were inherent to the onsen water itself (as explained in the brochure), which put my mind at ease. The hotel environment is fantastic. The breakfast and dinner menus were different each of the two nights, which was wonderful. The food alone made it worth the price; it's the best value-for-money onsen hotel I've ever stayed at. It was my favorite part of the entire Kyushu trip! I definitely want to come back again in the winter."

"Not a bad hotel for the price, especially considering dinner and breakfast are included. However, for a Japanese hotel, the service is quite modest. There's no water in the room, and the Wi-Fi doesn't work. But as it turns out, no water in the rooms is a common practice here. You either have to ask for it at the reception or fill it yourself from the dispensers on the 1st floor or near the onsen. The rooftop onsen in building 2 is small, no frills, and uncovered, so it's not very comfortable to be there in the rain. In that regard, I preferred the onsen on the 3rd floor."
