Excellent service, food, view, room - oh, what could I complain about? Everything felt amazing from the moment I entered the hotel. The hotel had a no-shoe policy, and they maintained it sparkly clean. The outdoor onsen was an infinite-pool onsen that was facing the ocean, which was mesmerizing. The breakfast buffet spread catered to my every-so-picky taste buds, and the restaurant was overlooking the sunrise. Other aspects of my stay that I greatly valued was the good quality of skincare products given and the incredible service. If I had to make one complaint, that would be the slight inconvenience of getting to-and-fro the hotel by bus on public holiday (taxi to the JR station is still affordable - about 850¥). If you drive, it would be amazing.

My wife booked this hotel for us for our weekend in Beppu. We selected this hotel based on the price, parking, and location. It is within walking distance to the train station and down town area. They have parking here which is a plus. The staff was very friendly, the individual helping us spoke great English which made check in/out easy. They have breakfast here, because of COVID, it was not buffet style, but the trays were nice and the food was great. The rooms were perfect, they were modern, spacious, and had everything we needed, plus the bed was comfortable. Overall, we had a great stay here.

Travel with a group of friends to Beppu but only 4 of us decided to stay at Amanek for 2 nights. This was the best decision ever as we were closed to the JR station, eateries, Tokiwa shopping mall, Donki and the beach were within walking distance. Only few staff could speak English. Those who speak Japanese only also try their best to serve the guest. I am impressed by how clean and new the whole hotel is. Best of all, I love the free flow of juices & beverages. You could also do take away in the UCC coffee disposible cup. Love the choice of either western or local breakfast with free flow of side dishes. I am surprised by how big the bedroom is and spacious bathroom. The gym equipment tho basic, are new & in good condition. The onsen is clean & modern & I love the warm rooftop pool with an awesome view! Amanek is thoughtful to provide guest with a basket to hold all your onsen needs. Upon check out, I was overcharged for my 2 days of breakfast. The staff was quick to rectify the problem & refunded me on the spot. Yes, would definitely stay in Amanek again in my next visit to Beppu! Thank you for the awesome stay!

Here is a 5-sentence hotel review: Beppa Hatto (BHONP) hotel provided an excellent stay during my recent family trip. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my visit. I especially appreciated the convenient downtown location and the high-quality on-site facilities. Overall, the BHONP offered great value and exceeded my expectations, and I would happily stay here again on my next trip to the area.

For those driving, please note that there are limited parking lots behind the hotel building. If it's full, you'll need to park at the multi-story car park beside the hotel, which doesn't come with a lift. Several convenience stores are located nearby the hotel. Overall, the check-in experience was smooth. However, the wait for the lift is quite lengthy, as there are only three lifts serving all customers. It took me 10 minutes to go down during peak hours.

Facilities: Excellent facilities. It is rated 3 stars, but it must be 4 stars. The service is more than 5 stars. Service: Excellent service. They asked for parking spaces, pointed out directions, and gave us coupons for nearby attractions and English and Chinese instructions. I couldn't believe that they prepared ice cubes for our room before we checked in. The girl at the front desk saw that we came from afar and upgraded the sea view room. The breakfast was also good. Hygiene: Very clean hotel. The room is divided into three areas, like a suite, and it is a rare super large room for traveling in Japan. Environment: You can see the sea from the window, and it is 2 minutes away from the beach. It is one JR station away from Beppu University, and 5 bus stops away from the awesome Takasaki Monkey Mountain and Oita Sea Ocean Museum, and 10 minutes away. We walked 600 meters from Beppu JR Station to the hotel, which was acceptable.

◎I thought I would receive a confirmation email a week before my stay, but I never received one, and even when I called, I couldn't get through at all, so I went there wondering if my reservation had been made properly. ◎When I arrived at the hotel, the directions were sloppy and I was told, ``Go straight ahead and the front desk will be on the second floor.'' There was no guide, so I had trouble recognizing the elevator. ◎I didn't know what was in the water in the kettle in the guest room or the water that was provided, so I didn't feel comfortable drinking it. ◎The stairs leading down to the dining hall are dark and I'm scared to go down at night. ◎In the changing room of the large public bath (women's bath), an employee works with a blank look on his face right next to a foreigner having trouble. I was stunned because he left without speaking to me. ◎There was a lot of hair on the sink in the changing room of the large public bath (women's bath), making it look filthy. ◎The tank and chairs in the large public bath (women's bath) are moldy and slimy, and it feels like they are missing something. The open-air bath is surrounded by walls on the sides and ceiling, so it's just an outdoor bath with no view. I feel like I was fooled by the Hoshino Resorts brand even though I was paying a high price for accommodation. Even if you don't have to pay such a high price for accommodation, I think there are many good things to do in terms of service, food, cleanliness, etc.

Really enjoyed this unique hotel that has a mix of art, onsen, great views and decent food. The room (419) was not luxurious but was well designed, the balcony overlooked the extraordinary landscape that is Beppu, the greatest feature was the semi open-air onsen bath facilitated by the floor to ceiling windows, connected to the generous deck space. It was fun to walk around the gallery space and admire the interesting architecture, color palettes, and exhibits championing Beppu culture, landscape, flora, fauna etc. Sitting in the Peak restaurant for dinner, I was amused that one of the waitstaff was a robot that ferried food and empty dishes back and forth. Dinner was laid-back, had a window side seat that allowed me to enjoy the city glitter below. My stay here was at a fraction of another Beppu hotel on this trip, in many ways I enjoyed this place more and would not hesitate to come back.

The hotel provides free shuttle service to Beppu Station. The service is very good. The hotel is clean and tidy. The teppanyaki for dinner tastes very good! There are Japanese and Western breakfast options. We chose Western breakfast and the quality is good. It is very close to Jigoku Onsen and can be reached on foot. The facilities in the room are Japanese style, but they are relatively old. The disadvantage is that the latest time for breakfast is 9 o'clock, which is too early. I originally came to relax and take a hot spring bath, but I had to get up early to eat breakfast. If I was late, they would call you to urge you to eat, which is really painful.

Overall, I felt the hotel was very nicely done with great local touches while still keeping an international atmosphere. I also wanted to point out the great flexibility of the hotel, allowing me to change my meal reservations from 3 dinners at Elements (I was on a package deal) to one at Elements and combining the remaining two meals at Elements to a dinner at Atelier. This allowed me to not have to dine at the same restaurant as well as opening up a slot for me to explore a local restaurant. However, there were two things that I'd like to point out that the hotel can improve upon. The first is the staffing at the club lounge (and in general) is not enough. There were many moments where I was left to wait, to the point where using standard facilities (like the check-in counter, or breakfast at Elements) would have been a more positive experience. Breakfast on 12/21 was where the understaffing really showed, where it took over an hour to complete breakfast; many guests left in the middle of their meal since service was horribly slow. However, the second point us what I would really want the hotel to work on - CoVID countermeasures. Largely, two things I'd like to point out. (1) Temperature screening us inconsistent. I was checked when I first arrived, but never anytime afterwards (or should I say, the thermometer station was unmanned). (2) During my meal at Atelier, my wife and I noticed that the staff (He was Italian, I think his name is Marco?) preparing the dishes (in the open kitchen) prepping a sauce, tasting it with the same spoon which was quickly rinsed it under the faucet and returned into the mixing bowl. I pointed this out to one of the servers (Japanese male, responsible for serving and explaining the dishes). This is where I felt the hotel can improve on - in detail, three things. (i) The Japanese server proceeded to quietly scold the staff in front of me, I felt that was not a great experience both for myself and the staff. (ii) Nothing was cleared. After the scolding (and then the staff responding back that he did not put the spoon back in) none of the utensils were changed and no follow up. I guess there is no trust in what a customer points out. And finally (iii) I felt that this is at the fault of the hotel for not putting in proper operation guidelines.A person putting together a meal will need to taste it, to make sure it's good. If the hotel were to put in operational guidelines to ensure tasting can be done while still making it very obvious that it is hygienic, I would not have to be writing this email. Needless to say, our dinner experience was ruined that night. I actually shared the above comment with IHG Guest Relations (on 25 Dec), which the agent was extremely prompt on getting back to me and assured that I would get a response back from the hotel about it within 48 hours.
