Hotel Colombo

Very nice and clean hotel. A little bit old but otherwise room was spacious and clean. Convenient hotel and very easy to spot as it’s probably the biggest building in Berat. Have a pool for €10 per person for use.

The hotel looks amazing but sadly we had a very poor experience on arrival. Booked a junior suite but the safe doesn't work. After an hour or so they moved us to the suite opposite, safe doesn't work. We are now stuck with our valuables on us whilst we wait for a technician to arrive (even though he had only left 5 minutes prior from trying to fix the other one). We were offered a refund on the spa (10euros per person).. Well if we hadn't taken this, we would have demanded it anyway. The spa consists of.. an empty hot tub, an empty swimming pool, a room that appears to be a building site. The only things working were a sauna and steam room, we were not advised this when paying! I hope the rest of our trip improves as this has been a very disappointing start

This is a hotel with a few pros and many cons Pros Impressive building on arrival with a red carpet and awning (reminded us of the White House in Washington). Large impressive lobby with lots of seating. Very good, speedy lifts. Spacious bedrooms with very comfortable beds and good quiet air conditioning. Swimming pool (read more in the cons section). The staff are generally very friendly and helpful. Cons More a 3 star than 5 star hotel The waterfall shower in our room had dried up to a trickle so we had to resort to showering using the hand shower. Soulless atmosphere which appears deserted until breakfast time (for those of you that remember, it is reminiscent of the movie “The Shining”). Breakfast is a bun fight with reasonable offerings and only one coffee machine for lots of guests. We had to pay €10 each to use the pool which is pleasant except for the loud American Rap music with foul language and expletives blaring out. We complained to the bar staff and they seemed to find it funny that we wanted it changed and turned down. We asked to speak to the manager but was told that he/she was offsite and the person on reception offered us a refund which we politely declined as it was a genuine complaint and not a means of getting our money back. Management needs to take responsibility, deal with complaints personally and stop hiding behind their staff. We were at the back of the hotel on a Saturday evening and the loud music from a nearby bar was dreadful. Overall we certainly wouldn’t recommend this hotel and would urge people to stay in the smaller boutique hotels of which there are plenty.

The cleaning crew have stolen my new dress so be careful!!!!

This hotel had a royal feel to it. The location is just a 5-6 minute walk to the Mangalem area. It's great value for money. wonderful staff, excellent service. Chillin’ by the pool with the perfect cocktail in hand 🍹✨ Cant wait to come back again.
