Hotels near Libeskind-Bau in Berlin

This hotel is an ideal residential neighbourhood, but also central to many attractions. Seconds from Liebeskind’s Jewish Museum, a short walk to Potsdamer Platz, etc. Superb breakfast, tidy modern rooms and excellent staff. Very comfortable and user friendly across all criteria. I would stay here again any time. Quiet street for the centre of Berlin.

My main consideration for any hotel is the LOCATION, NEIGHBOURHOOD & PRICE. This hotel is very near to metro, easily accessible & walkable to major sites. It is very near to Gendarmenmarkt. There are many restaurants & convenient stores in the vicinity. We felt safe in the neighbourhood when we were outside late night. Based on the many reviews, i chose the 226 sq ft room, spacious enough for us, a couple w 2 large luggage. It was quiet even though the room was facing the main road. The room, shower & toilet were clean & functional. The room cleaned & towel changed daily. I would stay here again if I return to Berlin.

Exceptional quirky pod hotel…. more a pod hotel than a hostel although it has that friendly social hostel feel with the other guests. A really unusual theme which many others checking in remarked on how cool it was. There’s screens showing a planet or stars moving down each corridor to add to the space station feel. The pods are very comfortable with the novelty of different lighting. Folding table, charge points, mirror, clock etc. The doors lock as you close them making you feel very secure and needs a button pressing to open them again (shall we open the airlock captain haha). It really does feel like many sci-fi movies or console games. The washrooms are the cleanest most luxurious I’ve seen in a shared place. More like a corridor with individual private bathrooms you can lock yourself in. Modern dark tiling and very clean. Wi-Fi is good as we’d expect/demand. Local area felt safe and was a manageable walk for someone fit to the Brandenburg Gate for example at half an hour. Checkpoint Charlie area is really near to give an orientation. There’s a Lidl nearby for eats and great range of beers. Not hard to find restaurants though. Buses go outside and regularly. One negative, the upper pods are accessed by floating stairs and a handle to pull yourself up with. It can be a little tricky and completely unsuitable for anyone infirm.

Probably the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Arrived late and had been told in advance that unfortunately there was no babybed for our child - however I was not told this until I had already paid for our stay. We chose the hotel, because they proclaimed to have private parking, but upon our arrival, the parking was sold out. So we started off with no bed for our child and no parking for our car. The staff was doing their job (yet, not going beyond expectation), so this horrible experience is not about them. They discussed if we should park in the alley behind the hotel, but agreed that it was not safe and recommended parking nearby (at the price of 25€ for one day). What made this stay horrible happened after arrival. We were given a room on the ground floor, which was 10 stairs up with no elevator and I was alone with three suitcases, a stroller and our child to carry up the stairs, while my husband tried to find parking. The room we entered smelled so bad that someone must have died in there. Or at least the room had not been cleaned for a while. There were long dark hair in the bed and dirt and grease on the floor. With no babybed our 2-year old had to sleep on a madres on this floor, since the bed was a bunk bed but with too little space for all three of us. The air condition was set to keep the room at a temperature between 18-22 degrees, however the room was freezing and we could not get the heat up. Finally the pillows were small and flat and we ended up checking out after only 7 hours at the hotel and with a minimum of sleep. So in short: would never, ever book this hotel again and advice you to find something else for your stay.

a budget hotel with budget facilities. I expected nothing more and nothing less. In my experience it is what it says in the description. The location is good, close to a metro station and within walking distance of checkpoint Charlie. The hotel had a nice bar area adjoining the check in desk. With a comfortable place to sit down. The bed is very soft though in a twin room they are too close together. The hotel offers AC in the hotel room and a radiator for towels in the bathroom. However the AC is a bit week, so give yourself plenty of time to cool down before you sleep.

Location: The location is the prime advantage if you wish to visit Berlin. All the attractions are easily accessible with Bus/S-Bahn/U-Bahn. So full marks for this. Breakfast: For vegeterians, was plenty to choose from. So we are happy with it. Ofcourse for non-vegeterians, maybe bit disappointing as there was no omlett/Wursts/HotDogs etc which you least expect. Staff: Overall good, except one incidence. A Guy with specs, from the kitchen area, talked rudely with us as we were taking photos of the food. He could have talked politely which is the first and utmost thing you expect in Germany. Other than him the all other staff members were good. ROOMs: The rooms were quite small because of extra Bed. We would like to mention that we were completely disappointed with the extra bed. It was big , agree, but it looked like it was a Sofa-Bed and had very large structure which took lot of room space. Exactly the way the others have complained here. The quality of the mattress was poor. The pillow quality was as well poor for this extra bed. The double bed was big enough but the qulity of the mattress can be better. Cleanliness: The room was in general clean except that certain areas needed immediate attention. For example the iron-pad had dust layers so decided not to use it at all. The toilet seat was from outside clean but the inner side was unattended and hence not clean enough. Next day the room service cleaned up the room but it was also not perfect. They only made the bedsheets. They did not bother to once clean the surface of bedsheets. Which we immediately noticed. Which is not expected from room service.

This hotel has 5 room types, i booked an Executive apartment, which if the second top room type. I am a solo traveller, but liked the room layout and the extra space. I checked in on 30/03/22 for 3 nights and was allocated room 107. On opening the door i immediately thought it did not exactly resemble the pics i had seen for an Executive Apartment, it was big enough, but just not what i was expecting. The kitchen area was locked up with a shutter over it, which i thought strange. I literally just in the room for 5 minutes and went out exploring. I checked with reception about the kitchen being looked and they asked if i wanted it unlocked to use, yes, that's why i booked that room type, the fridge with freezer compartment for ice and cold drinks. I came back about 5 hours later and the kitchen was indeed unlocked. I was going to shower and looked for the bath robe and slippers which should be in the room, but nothing was there. it was at this point i was sure this was not the room type i had booked. I checked on my phone and looking at the specifications was sure i had been given the wrong room type. I went to reception to enquire and spoke to the duty manager, he printed off 2 pages to show the difference between an Executive Apartment and an Apartment (the top room type), although the same pics had been used to advertise both room types, there were some differences and he stated that my room was larger than most in the hotel. I was still unsure, but accepted what he said and i collected a bathrobe and slippers, the reason they are not already in the room was due to ongoing Covid restrictions. I still felt that i was in the room room type, it was large, but a lot of the room was taken up by a wet room, which was adapted for a wheelchair user and this made the room an awkward space with a lot of dead space. As it turned out, my flight home was cancelled and i ended up staying only 2 nights, so didn't pursue things further. On returning home i checked the room specifications on the website and room 107 is not up to the specifications advertised or as soon in the pics. two main reasons. 1) Executive Apartments have a sofa/sofa bed and can sleep up to 3 people, room 107 had no sofa/sofa bed and this room could only sleep 2 people max. 2) Executive Apartments have a separate seating area, a table and chairs where you can sit and eat, this is clearly shown in the pics too. This was not in room 107. The only seating was a chair at the desk and one other chair. I think room 107 is a superior room adapted for a wheelchair user, but was given to me as i was a solo traveller and dd not need the capacity to sleep 3. I wanted the sofa/sofa bed to sit on and relax, that's why i booked a room with that in it. I am only writing this review, as 3 emails have gone unanswered, one to novum hotels 10/04/22 and two direct to the hotel 12/04/22 and 20/04/22. good point Walking distance to major tourist attractions well cleaned and clean Laundry (washing and drying) can be done for 5 euros bad point There is no kitchen and no place to wash water bottles etc. dark corridor Elevator is narrow Hairdryers can be rented without a deposit. There is no kitchen, but there is a water server next to the reception. Other word of mouth said that there was noise, but I didn't feel it. Wasn't there a group of students staying? Maybe luck. It's a large hostel, so I think it would be difficult if the toilet and bathroom were in a far room. This is also luck.

Breakfast was really good (especially considering standard German -level), and the room was really nice and had an excellent view, especially because we got a free upgrade for our room due to fully booked hotel situation. We also liked the location, for example a Michelin star restaurant ”Nobelhart & Schmutzig” was nearby, to which we were able to get a table. But if you are looking for the best parties and some ”queer -action”, you might want to check out a place to stay a bit closer to the Kreuzberg center. It's approx. 20-30 minutes walk from the hotel. The only small criticism comes from the Bathroom lighting. If you need to go to the bathroom during the night, be prepared to be blinded by the lighting - there's no option to put on a dimmer nightlight. No biggie though. Also, we did not try the Spa -area, so cannot comment on that.

It was clean and when I first arrived I thought the location wasn’t very good, but it’s actually in a pretty good place, depending on what you want to do and see. There is a bus stop right outside which was often convenient. There isn’t a front desk so check in was kind of annoying since you should contact them before you get there to get the code in time but I didn’t know that booking from Trip. After I got the code, everything else was smooth, except their laundry room was not yet open.
