Ibis Bern Expo

The rooms are rather small and equipped with one of the typical shower cubicles - but everything is relatively new and clean - in particular, there are no major signs of wear and tear. The rooms are air-conditioned, but windows can also be opened (albeit only a crack). Rooms at the front facing Guisanplatz and Expo are noisy, as there is a tram stop and turning point there, which creates a certain level of noise until late in the evening and early in the morning. The tram is also a great advantage - it takes you directly to the old town of Bern in 8 minutes without changing trains - it doesn't get much better than that. And since the hotel also gives you the BerndCard with every overnight stay - it's even free. Parking spaces in the underground car park (belonging to the neighboring Novotel) are a bit steep at over 20 CHF (for 24 hours) (pre-booking is recommended during trade fair times, as the car park can also be booked as a guest) and your car shouldn't be very wide either - the parking spaces are very narrow). All in all, a good enough hotel for one or two nights.

It is the second time we have stayed in this hotel and we are very satisfied. Really interesting location, nice room, excellent breakfast, very kind and helpful staff. Tram stop within walking distance and free ticket for public transport

Hotel well located in the surroundings of Benrnexpo and Wankdorf. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and quiet. The breakfast is of good quality with a large choice of products. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The possibility of using the car park at a competitive rate (22.- for 24 hours, lower than the surrounding car parks) is a plus.

Very good hotel. Spacious and comfortable room. Good bedding. Perfect breakfast. A lot of choices. Top-notch, multilingual staff with good advice. Very good location for visiting the city on foot.

We were greeted in a friendly manner and check-in was straightforward. The room was typical Ibis style. But the location is ideal for visiting a trade fair - just across the street. The city center is also easy to reach by public transport. The room facing the garden was surprisingly quiet. The view of the equestrian center was almost rural. It was quite warm in the room, but the window could be opened a "crack" (for security) and so the climate was pleasant at night - but air conditioning would have been available. For a family with children, it would have been nice if the children had single beds - but for one night, it wasn't that important. We deliberately skipped breakfast because CHF 19 seemed a bit too expensive, especially since there are so many delicious bakeries/cafés in Bern. Check-out was easy - hand over your room card and you're done. The only downside we found was the underground car park, which is very narrow and therefore difficult to park - especially when some people use two parking spaces for one car. In addition, the underground car park costs over CHF 20 for 24 hours - not exactly cheap either.
