We have just spent a lovely 3 days in Bern with 2 nights in this hotel, it was nice for a short stay. The ensuite room had everything we needed, was very clean and very comfortable. Continental breakfast was standard but good. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday evening, we both ordered Entrecote Steak Cafe de Paris which was excellent. Whilst the restaurant does not open on Saturday or Sunday, if you leave the hotel and turn right you can find restaurants and bars a short walk down the street (Namaste is good if you like Indian food). The location is great, with a tram stop opposite (we went to the Museum of Communication from there) and there is a bus stop in a nearby side street for the bus which takes you to the Bear Gardens and Zentrum Paul Klee. I would honestly say the staff are an asset to this hotel, very polite and helpful. When we checked out we were able to leave our bags in one of the reception area lockers as we wanted to go out for a few hours before catching a train back to Basel. We would be happy to stay here again if we have another short break in Bern. The building has an interesting history and we loved the old lift too.
