We stayed at Hyatt Place when we were touring Virginia Tech. The hotel is very convenient to the university - just a 5 minute drive away. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly. Breakfast in the morning was good - more than just a continental breakfast.

Loved this hotel - reasonable nightly rates, very clean, well-appointed rooms. Soft sheets, comfy beds, thermostat allowed individual climate preferences. The blackout shades worked very well - we LOVE a dark room when we sleep late.
Very quiet on our floor. Convenient laundry on 4th floor - only one washer and one dryer, but was still able to complete my load in short order.
Love the desk, sofa. Frig was great, microwave would have been a nice add on!!

This hotel is in a great location by VT. The biggest issue is that they control the room temperature. If you like rooms 71 to 72 degrees than you are at the right place. There is no way to lower it and there is no other option than HEAT.

Close to anything you need. Breakfast ends promptly at 9am. I had to carry up to room for my elderly mom and was not able to heat bc no microwave in room. Very large nice room and bath. Has carpet which I don't prefer in hotel rooms. Pool very clean however no bathroom.
