The Chateau Bloomington Hotel and Conference Center

The hotel is in the middle of some much needed renovations. There was a lot of work going on to the outside of the building. The inside needs work also. The hallways are dark and smell somewhat musty. Our room, though large, had one problem that I could not overcome, Everything in that room was low to the ground...the bed, sinks, mirrors, toilet and even the office chair were too low for me. I found myself stooping for most of my stay. Great for shorter people but not those over 5'8”.
Eastland Suites Hotel & Conference Center

We found the experience at the Eastland a little different than other hotels. We checked in and were given a map to building #9 which is the hotel building. The other buildings in this complex seem to contain longer stay units. So the lobby/bar is in one building and the hotel rooms in a different building. Going between them involved walking through the parking lot and among several other buildings. So, there is no staff in the building that houses the hotel. The room was fine - a typical hotel room. I prefer hotels with the comfort of knowing that there is a hotel desk and services in the building. This place felt like we were staying in an apartment building. It was all clean and reasonably well maintained, except the clanging elevator.
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Bloomington-Normal Airport, IL

The bumpy frontage road on which this place sits should have been a warning. We walked through the front entrance and were met by less of a welcome than a quizzical look from someone who we learned was the check-in person who leisurely sauntered over to see what we wanted; no ”welcome,” or even a ”hello.” Other than the six-foot-distance stickers on the floor and a container of pens marked ”clean,” no pandemic precautions were visible. The check-in guy was not masked and there was no plastic shield. Our room and the rest of the lobby was clean, however. And the mattress was comfortable enough. Breakfast consisted of standard free motel fare, again with no pandemic precautions evident. I'm not usually disappointed by Trip Advisor ratings, but this time I have to wonder how this place got such great reviews.

To whom it may concern : I made a reservation at the above Hotel for 14 days stay. I checked in 02/26/2021 and received an unpleasant welcome from the front desk by the name ”Allysann”. Unbothered by her demeanor, I settled in my room, today 02/27/2021 I heard a knock on my door about a smoking complaint from ”my room” that I obviously wasn't smoking in. Was I surprised? No. She claimed the smell was from my room without any proof so her I asked her to walk in and check, she did but was still bent on her claim and asked that I vacate the room/hotel premises in an hour. Literally without no proof but a smell only she can perceive. I have stayed at several, uncountable Marriotts hotels in the past 10 years without a single complaint neither have I ever experienced any embarrassment like this. Not only did she ask me to leave within the next hour, but she also mentioned I will be charged $200 for ”smoking ”in the room and will also be charge for the of 02/27/2021 that I didn't sleep in. To avoid unecessary drama, I decided to pack my bags and leave, barely 5 mins into my packing I heard another bang on my door, lo and behold it was 2 police officers standing right at my door. Basically there to enforce my removal from the hotel for no unjust reason. Not only was ejected from the hotel, I am being charged $200 for an unconfirmed violation claims, as if that wasn't enough, I am also being charged for an extra night that I didn't sleep in the hotel. This is the most embarrassing, unpleasant and outrageous service I have ever experienced from Marriott in my entire life. I recorded all the activities and intend to share it on my social media so others know not to visit that location and quite frankly believe the hotel staffs are being racist, the location definitely speaks a lot of volume. All of their accusations are 0% baseless. If you are a person of color, I'd say to think twice before staying at this hotel

The staff was very nice. And we were happy to see how clean the rooms was. It was also larger than we expected. The shower was excellent (which my husband is very particular about ). I’m so glad we found this hotel - good location and good price.
