This boutique hotel is the epitome of style over substance. It aspires to be five star but lacks the service to come close. As other reviewers have described, problems occur too frequently, and they aren’t up to the occasion of solving them. The hotel feels like it doesn’t have anyone managing it. The front desk staff isn’t able or willing to pick up the slack. There is currently a major leak in the lobby ceiling not far from the front desk. Our room sink also had a leak. The room safe didn’t work when we arrived, despite prominent notices warning us to use it. It took three visits to repair. The desk lamp also doesn’t work, but we’re leaving that for someone else to tackle. Today, housekeeping took our used towels in the morning but didn’t replace them. When we asked for one because someone wanted to take a shower, we were told they don’t have any because they’re all at the laundry. The standard rooms are on the small side. As others have pointed out, the toilet room has a translucent door which doesn’t appeal to everyone. It is located next to the door entrance rather than as part of the bathroom. The bar and pool area on the roof is covered, which doesn’t seem a bad idea given the strength of the sun in Bogotá. The pool is more of a chic lap pool. The pool bar isn’t open and there are no staff in the area. After checking it out this morning, we came back to use it this afternoon and it’s now closed for maintenance. Another fail. The lobby bar is open but closes relatively early. I discovered that I can’t charge anything to the room because I didn’t leave a credit card at check-in, which they didn’t ask me to do. On the plus side, the showers have high pressure. The sink is very large with a large area for toiletries next to it. Tip: you have to turn the sink on to very high force (it starts filling up) to get hot water. Nice flatscreen TV. Though we are not facing the street, you can still hear noise sometimes, including at night. The included breakfast is very good with excellent service. However, for the 24 hour room service, think frozen items nuked in the microwave, though presented nicely. In sum, the hotel isn’t so much horrible as endlessly disappointing to the point of being comical. It has a hip style, but ultimately doesn’t try and verges on hopeless at times.
