You would not think it from the outside and the location however this place is an absolute gem. The hospitality was some of the best I have ever experienced. The food was likely the best Boise had to offer and could rival any larger city chef inspired cuisine. The service was impeccable. And I enjoyed a morning river walk along the greenway which was only a short distance away. I will be back.

Love staying at the Modern! Such a unique spot with great people, bar & restaurant are awesome, and the rooms are very cool & fun. It's a great value as well for staying downtown.

The outside looks rather dull and plain but it is an excellent hotel inside. Very comfortable room with nice lay-out of the shower, good bar and restaurant, very good breakfast (not only sweet and/or fat stuff like in so many American hotels). Great service. No: excellent service!
