The hotel is in. Great location perfect to walk around and there is a good few bars near by. The hotel is a bit dated but it was good service overall and comfortable to sleep.

Great location with great staff. The bell tolls every so often, but it is no bother. Shower is a tad bit tiny but bathroom is big. Lift is available but some rooms on level 2 has a few steps to conquer - do request a room that does not tackle this if you cannot lift your luggage for these few steps. One key per room, but key can be left at reception. We had 4 rooms all up and they mananged to get us all on same floor & close by, as per our request. Again, all the staff are great. Check-in is 3pm, check-out is 11am.

Fantastic location, in the very heart of the city. The room is tiny but clean, the balcony has a splendid view on the old town. The bed of the single bedroom is very small: it was good enough for me, but it might not be enough for a bigger person.

Good welcome and perfect location. Flaw about the rooms, they don't reflect the photos on the site. Once you entered the room you noticed very old furniture, plus a rather nauseating smell of smoke. Good cleaning.

We had a very disappointing stay here as part of our honeymoon. Staff on reception not at all friendly. The hotel is basic at best and I guess survives on the fact that it has elevated viewing areas from which you can see a fantastic vista of the city. The vista in our room, not so much. I could have cried when I looked out the window from our basic, insipid room. In fact, we decided we would leave and book elsewhere but our fee was non refundable so could not. There was absolutely no atmosphere and staff looked blank or indeed rather grumpily on as we passed. The corridors look like a hospital — no decor to be seen. There is no bar open at night to take drinks out to the terrace and we had nothing in the room — on checking out, we were asked if we had taken from the mini bar — there wasn’t one. When I told them this, they said there was it was just very well hidden. We had looked everywhere for this and still we are none the wiser. Breakfast is okay…nothing special. We wouldn’t have minded if we had booked budget accommodation for a quick city break but this hotel was costly.

Very disappointing experience with the hotel manager who preferred to argue for 35 minutes with us instead making a gesture to please us, the customers. I joined my friends for one night in the hotel. They had already booked two double rooms. I was asked to pay an additional amount of 30 euros at the reception which I did only to discover that my friend had already paid ahead the additional amount. In fact they asked her to cancel and redo the reservation through Booking and pay an additional amount, instead of just adding a name to the room as they were asked through email. After endless arguments, the manager only refunded 15 euros. VERY DISAPPOINTING

The hotel is very centrally located, there are many restaurants and cafes nearby. The sights are easy to reach. The hotel staff are friendly and the chambermaids do a great job. The terrace is wonderful and has a great view that can be admired 24/7, but there are still a few things that could be improved. Everything is a bit dated, which I can judge from my single room. I don't know what it would be like on the top floor, I can only judge the second one where I stayed. You can hear absolutely everything in the room, from early in the morning until late at night when you really want to sleep peacefully. I heard the doors slamming constantly and you can hear when the room neighbors are showering because the walls are so thin and the doors don't really seal. I would still recommend it for a short stay.

Having changed city, I am currently in Ischia Forio) but after 30 years I chose the sea, Riccione and Rimini for 9 months, living in Bologna depending on the vicissitudes, having fairs of all kinds... it's strategic San Donato to experience the history of the city on foot. Others excellent for other needs. Example Hotel i Portici very close to the station... Corona D'Oro to experience the Middle Ages... The terrace is the strong point that distinguishes it... comfortable bed, excellent cleanliness, courtesy and high quality furnishings merit
