Only visited the roof top bar, which was very nice, central and with great view over Bologna. Service was great, and they were got to try several Italian dishes for free! It is quite expensive, however the free bites and great service made up for the prizes. Recommend to anyone visiting in spring/summer

The hotel has fewer than 10 rooms in the hotel proper; when we stayed we were put in the apar**ent building 2 blocks away. This was less than convenient for everything from breakfast to getting ice; we might as well have been in another property. The hotel itself is in a one-way alley that requires taxis to back down to the entrance; the apar**ent building is also on a side alley. The properties are close to San Petronio and the main atttractions, and it was quiet and felt quite safe, but the pictures in the reviews are not much like what we had in our studio apar**ents.

The hotel is very nice and wonderfully located, on the edge of the historic district and walkable to the train station. Staff were very helpful. The room was nice but quirky. For example, the bed was in the middle of the room, the built in soap dispenser was distant from one of the two sinks, there was a large mirror sitting on the floor rather than mounted, which could be accidentally kicked over at night.

A beautiful hotel with a staff that treats you like family. They are helpful and truly care. The room was well appointed with a lovely terrace. The morning breakfast was full of options from eggs to meats and cheeses to fruits and of course delicious sweets. The room itself is comfortable. The rooftop bar is an added plus with an incredible view. Our server and bartender were fabulous and felt like friends. It's a perfect way to end a day. I loved the whole experience and will always stay there when I am in Bologna.

If you want a central location and a lovely front desk and housekeeping staff, Hotel Metropolitan is wonderful. However, if you want to be able to unpack your clothes, sit in a comfortable chair, and have enough light to put on your make-up, get dressed, and read- maybe try somewhere else.
