Dingdong Bonn - City Apartments

Cleanliness was a real issue. Disgusting false eyelash stuck on the quilt. Carpet and window sills not clean. No staff or reception when corporate card didn’t work. No facilities beyond room.

This hotel is never going to be 5 stars, but it's clean comfortable, quiet and warm. I am a solo female travelling for afew days in Bonn and I felt very safe here. The location is excellent - right in the centre of Bonn, a 2 minute walk to Beethoven's House, and many pretty streets and squares. There are bars and restaurants on the doorstep outside, a great lively a**osphere, but fortunately, the noise didn't travel into my room. There is a kettle, microwave and small wardrobe in the room and a very large, clean bathroom. The room was spotless and clean. It's very basic and there is no service (not a hotel, this is self-service apar**ents with self check in), but for a cheap few days in the city with great location, it was perfect for me! There were building works going on in the stairwell, but it didn't affect me - just looked a bit unsafe and untidy.

My son stayed in one of their 20 square meter rooms from mid-July to mid-August 2021. They charged us 450 euros. When he left I asked for the deposit money (another 450 euros) and they replied saying I should have looked at the small print: they only give it back 6 MONTHS later. So they use your money as free credit. Now they gave it back, but deducted 100 Euros to clean the 20 square meter room. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.
