What a wonderful trip! My husband and I visit in March for our 10 year anniversary. We spent our honeymoon here 10 years ago. We also stayed at Taha'a for our honeymoon but opted to stay at the St Regis for the entirety of this anniversary trip. We stayed 8 nights. Anything less than 6 would have felt much too short for us. Not much had changed in the 10 years between our trips — meaning the resort is well maintained and its luxury has held through. Our room was comfortable and clean. We appreciated the extras in our rooms - treats, body oils, etc. I even saved the daily postcards and put them in a large floating frame to hang in our home to remind of us the beautiful island. A couple things we noticed that might be helpful to future travelers: - The butlers are amazing and work long hard days. We had Damian and he was the best! So kind, attentive and on top of everything. He came to find us to check in every day and arranged for a cover when he had his days off. - Also amazing...the beach boys! They work hard, are SO friendly and welcoming and a pleasure to spend time with. We also enjoyed getting to know the French interns/staff. - Mosquitos weren't horrible but definitely bring repellant and after bite creme. - It would have been nice to have Tahitian/island music over "today's top hits" at restaurants. - For the Tahitian night, we noticed there is no longer a fire show which was a part of the show 10 years ago. Maybe it is a safety issue now? - If you're considering the Four Seasons over St Regis, take into account that the St Regis has more restaurants and the rooms are larger. - Pre-dinner cocktails at Lagoon is beautiful and relaxing! The sunsets are unreal. We went there every night prior to dinners. - LOVED the shell necklace making class. Make sure to check the weekly schedule for the classes such as floral crown making (you need a reservation), themed dinner nights at Aparima, and more. - There were quite a few families at the restaurants/beach area every day. When we stayed for our honeymoon we didn't notice any families. Just something to expect if you're looking for a quiet romantic escape - we left our young kids at home for some quiet :). There is also a nice quiet adult pool. - We enjoyed the free boat/bus shuttle into Viatape to search for locally made souvenirs and to see the island. We ended up taking this trip on the same day as a big cruise ship was in town so if you want a less-busy trip, ask which day to go. - We booked through Pacific for Less for both trips and highly recommend Claudia and her team! She took care of all the travel details, including getting us lounge access at the Tahiti airport (this was important! AC, food, drinks, shower, etc), and also front of line access upon arrival in Tahiti to skip the customs line. She also arrange a preferred room, massages, shark/ray tour (A MUST TOUR!), dinner reservations, and more. - Nice, cool gym with updated equipment. We really enjoyed a morning of tennis too.
